| Geo - I want this!!! (I do, right) how much of a PITA is it to get the axle out without dragging it off with a truck a la the YJs... I was thinking about attempting to do it myself and just bringing the axle to you.... or is that a bad idea? I am far from being a mechanic but can work a ratchet and a hammer about as good as the next guy. http://www.jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6776Thoughts.... I guess I should wait until I get the chromos to drop in.. might be able to kill two birds. Also - I was wondering if I should get my U-joints tacked... my neighbor has a welding machine and it looks easy enough... thoughts on this? | |

Also - I was wondering if I should get my U-joints tacked... my neighbor has a welding machine and it looks easy enough... thoughts on this? dont worry bout the cromos.....imo not neccasary for you.....at some point it will be though, like when your running 4's with out bypassesall the time or get a locker untill then tack the caps and run it.. i ran 35's on stock shafts with tacked caps for a long time, really beating on it, actually broke the carrier in half and tore all the side and spiders to shit with stock shafts i would recomend adding the lca skids and the c gussets from evolution at the same time as the truss......... total parts and labor would be 400 if you brought me the axle , or 500 if you brought me the whole jeep you might get a diff cover also ......would be a good time to put it on

| Thanks for that.... I will do the diff cover at the same time. I will most likely just bring it to you and help wrench. Any preference in diff covers? Or just pick one and go.. I was thinking about the Solids.
How long do you need it? Do I need to drop it off or would it be a one day thing? (91 miles from my door to yours)
Not gonna happen before Trees so I have a little time before the next big run which MIGHT be Palo Duro in May...
