With my Trektop I've noticed
driving in rain- no leak
parked in light rain- no leak
parked in heavy rain- the cloth over the rollbar (above driver) is wet, and a puddle in my rear seat husky liners

Well last week we had a big storm roll thru while it was parked at the office. After the storm I went out and looked, and had the usual puddle. I looked up, and realized the puddle is directly under a seam that goes across the top. AHA!! The seam is leaking, which completely explains the no leak when driving- when driving the rain water is being pushed back and doesn't have time to seep thru the seam. When parked, it has time to seep thru and drips straight down into the husky liners (good thing those are there).

So anyone have any ideas on how I can seal up that seam? Is there something used to seal tents? And would that work?

You could try candle wax. Just take a candle and rub it along the seam where it leaks.

If it is real canvas it will supposedly seal on its own if sewn properly after a few soakings.

They probably dont use canvas on a trec-top though.

I had to buy some for the seams in the tent that we used at Barnwell.... that thing is almost 20 years old so it was due for seam repairs.
