The Smitty looks like the Stauns, though I've heard people complain that they leak, so if you don't take them off as soon as they are done (you're shooting the shit and not paying attention), you end up with a completely flat tire. That cheapest one- only problem with that is you can't set it for any stop point, it just goes and you have to keep checking it.

I like the stauns because you just put it on and walk away. You can even drive with them on while they deflate, and then just stop & remove them once they are done.

Go with the Stauns.

My buddy has them on his site for the same price, but with free shipping ( http://www.trailduty.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_47&products_id=359 ) and he is a fellow Texas based wheeler with a JK.

the cheapest thing to do is bring extra sodas and water on the trail and offer them up, then ask your friends to borrow their staun deflators 🤠

It's probly more expensive doing it your way rather than just buying the Stauns. Every trip you'll have to provide drinks etc. indefinitely. After about 5 years...guess what. And if you have to borrow them from Cody or Jon, expect to be asked for a little more than just some refreshments if you know what I mean. I wouldn't wish that on anyone 🤣

Quick question for the Staun users - how do you "set" them for your desired psi? If I wanted to air down to 15psi would I only have to set it once or each time that I aired down?

I bought one of the Vivairs and wish I would have spent the extra bucks on the Stauns

Just set all four at the same psi, (I did one tire at a time, one Staun on each tire) and adjusted them. They have lock ring type of thing if I can remember. Been so long since I adjusted them and set them.
Then, each time you want to air down, you just screw one onto the valve stem...doesn't matter which one as they are all set the same....and VIOLA.....all four tires have the same pressure at the same time.

You air down your spare to the desired PSI. Then put one staun on it and adjust it to where air starts to come out, then you turn it back to make it stop. Now it is set. Repeat the process with all 4. Once they are all set the same, lock them all into place.
