ok big problem on my 79 cj5 with 304 v8 no spark.module heats up ...new one did the same
replaced the coil and module any advise would help thank yall :deadhorse:

Anything heating up could mean a short. New module should fix it.

Do you have spark at the main wire from coil to cap?

If so look at cap and rotor.

if not run a wire from battery to module. If it runs it is between module and ignition switch.
