09 JK Tie Rod

Subject: 09 JK Tie Rod Tue 15 Sep 2009, 1:29 am

Durring our little outting to Tire Trax in Rockdale. I broke my linkage that comes from the knuckle to the gear. Is this a common problem? I only have 6k on it. I cant say that I have babied it but i certainly havnt been really rough with it either. It goes in to the dealer on thursday. I hope it will be covered under my warranty?

An OEM replacement tie-rod is only like $55 from Quadratec should you need to go that route, as I am sure the dealer charges quite a bit more.

So just got back from the dealer. The tie rod is covered, instead of having tension on the socket its normal for it to move back and forth. I walked them through the lot and showed them how the others didnt do that. They kept telling me that it is whithin spec. I guess ill go the quadratec option.
