Tucked my evap canister 2" higher by mounting it on top of the stock bracket instead of the bottom. I have a RC 1.25" body lift so this was easy to do. I don't think you could do this without at least a 1"BL.
3- 10mm 50 1.50 bolts and washers $3.00
Not as good as the Woods relocate kit but better than stock location.

With a 1" body lift the canister mounts up against the tub, so you are correct in that you could not do this with any less body lift.

I think the best part is it raises the canister up to the top of the crossmember which is like 1.5" or 2" of lift, which when looking at the canister placement is huge.

This was one of the first mods I did on my JK when I first got it.
