| Ya, mine is bent to shit...need to replace it sometime...actually been that way for awhile...lol Ultimate goal is to have complete high steer set-up...the prob, nobody seems to have come up with an answer, YET. So, if and when that time comes and for those in the know...do ya think the high steer would effect the stablizer...meaning the type and size. I ask because I have to options here: 1. just upgrade the steering stablizer and brackets or 2. forget option 1 and go with hydro assist I would hate to go with option 2 and later be able to get a complete high steer set only to find the hydro was too bulky, didn't fit right or whatever else thoughts? maybe I have nothing to worry about, I don't know | |

| interesting.......
I smashed mine and went with the Poly Performance relocation kit - the shock is beefy as hell, its a nice setup
One note for the shock setup - I called and asked where to set the shock and was told to mark the halfway point and install it there - what I didn't know was that there is a difference between what is visible and actual shock travel - I set it at the halfway point of what was visible, carefully measured with a tape and marked with a sharpie...when I steered all the way to the passenger side it would bottom out the shock causing some damage to the shock housing and the bushing...
Thanks to George for finding and fixing that for me!
Sorry for the ramble..... just wanted folks to know so they don't make the same mistake.

| i'd go with the hydro assist if i had the $$ and forget the stablizer. PSC is supposed to have a complete bolt in kit. | |

| yes, the hydro assist is better...but the question remains about the high steer set-up and then having room for such | |

| I thought that PSC makes a kit that works with the JK without much trouble? I've seen several on JKO's. Also, don't forget http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/hydrosteering.html I should also mention that Shawn at Great Lakes Offroad makes a kickbutt diff cover and he can customize it anyway you want it. Depending upon how you want to setup your hydraulics, he has made several covers with the hydraulic mount integrated into the cover. If you put an external sleeve on your D44, it would also be a perfect time to weld up some mounts for the hydraulics. The options appear to be plentiful. I should also mentioned that the Redneck Ram setup has worked well for several people. Phil at Trailduty is one. Myself, I bought the Poly high steer kit and the poly tie rods. This should make for a pretty good setup for now. When I did my lift, I put on the RC dual steering stabilizer. This is overkill. I also believe that this setup will get bashed to hell on rocks. It'll last a while but I think the Poly setup (or similar) will work best. I'm not sure 100% sure about the best setup for hydraulic assist just yet. I haven't done enough research to give you a good answer here since this is down the road on my list of mods. However, I don't see why you couldn't use hydraulic assist with the high steer setup. It looks like another Houston member has full hydraulic steering. See post 25. http://www.jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6151&highlight=hydraulic I'm not sure if he's a member here or if you know him. I guess you could always go full hydraulic! | |

| Paul's set up is not street legal...it's a full hydraulic system off a fork lift. | |

| Good copy on that TH. Just throwing out some options. I wasn't sure what his ultimate goal was...trail rig or combo. I assumed he still wants to drive it on the street legally but some people could care less.
Let me ask a question. Are you beating up your tie rods so bad that you want to flip them? I would think that the aftermarket stronger tie rods and flipped drag link would do the trick. Throw on another stablizer and call it good. Personally, I don't see the need to throw on the TRU turn for 1" of added clearance.
BTW, if you need a stock stabilizer to get you through, let me know. You can have my stocker.
