Well that's the idea anyway. I dont have any real plans other than 116" WB and a tube bed that will fit my 06 YZF R6 with the tail gate down. I currently have a D60 FF Rear and im looking for a front so i'll be getting rid of my d30 4.56 open Front and super 35 4.56 detroit rear. Some cheap H2 Wheels to get started and maybe some 35 firestone destination m/ts for the street. Yes it will be daily driven. Here's the tear down so far....

I will be running the larger half cab from brute or gr8tops so the roll cage will be re done to fit and go through body and tie into the bed.
Home Brew TJ Brute IMAGE_038
Used the side rails to form the top rail for the bulk head where the new top will bolt. Pretty easy

Ill be getting some fresh sheet metal to form around the corners and fill the old comp cut.

Thanks, If i can get some sun i have plenty to keep my busy for now. It seems to rain on my days off lately leaving me stuck inside. I finally came to realize i needed to crack down and swap the axles. This is where the direction of the build plans began to change. Might as well build the rest of the jeep while its under the knife. So i parked it and began to add to my tool collection with the purchase of a millermatic vintage w/ co2, oxy acetylene torch...

Mi bender es tu bender primo.

Sorry Deac but I had to let it go. I didn't even get a chance to post it up here...had a few people lined up. It would have been a shame to cut it up when i knew someone in need.

looks like you're building a shop out there !
just wondering, did you get the hydro or manual version? if its the manual one, are you going to gusset the base of the stand to the shaft with triangles to keep from ripping it from the base? damn i wish we had the same days off Home Brew TJ Brute Icon_sad

I went with the manual set up for now to save some $$. 395.00 plus 35.98 for shipping, to my door for 430.98. The 1 3/4" Die was another 300.00 alone. I intend to get quite a bit of use out of it. I'll will eventually add the hydo later but for now this will suffice. And yes some gussets for good measure.

Been caught up with a couple of other things like trying to get across town for material....Ordering and picking up parts for my buddy's Evo 8 build we are also doing.

But here is a bit of frame work for the cab close out before I add sheet metal and eventually armor on these corners. I Also cut out what was left of the inner wheel tub as well as the section of the floor where it stepped up to rear cargo section. This will give me very little gain in room but I will need all i can get.

I have had my eyes on craigslist for about a year now when i came across my Dana 60. Luckily I don't think the guy knew what it was or he would have asked for more. You just have to be quick as they don't last long. I have seen several from a guy located on Shepard Rd in San Antonio but they need to be rebuilt. I've seen them on ebay as well but I have no idea what shipping would be like.

Are you going to build it with zero departure angle, or are you going to keep an extended bed on it more like an MJ?

I'm shooting for something in the middle actually. The bed may slightly over hang for now running 35s on the street, but that's for now. Once it's done i'll start thinking about 40s? It should be close enough to zero...not sure on the exact wheelbase either so we shall see.

Hah! Am I Going to wheel it? Home Brew TJ Brute Icon_lol I Cant Wait!!!! Yes Fish Plates have been cut but my CO2 bottle on the welder ran out which stopped all foward progress. Home Brew TJ Brute Icon_evil That means i gotta take some time out of my day on wed to get it filled. Oh well, as for the cage...i have a few ideas in my head. already picked up 5 sticks of 1 3/4" tube so i'll be replacing all the stock tube. I will use some tube clamps to run some removeable cage tie ins from the cab to the bed. The plan is to still use a hard top.
