| well the suburban was getting old, high miles, and didnt trust it on long trips with factory parts so i borrowed some money. Got a 2004 2500 hd 4wd silverado with the 6.0. And before the nagging of not getting a diesel, i still got this duramax here that i can use wheneva . Trucks really in good shape. 102000 miles, leather seats, seat warmers, bose speakers, and class V hitch. We will see how it does this weekend going to moroc | |

| I just cant leave anything alone........lol. After getting 10mpg towing my jeep to moroc, I knew i had to change some things. 1st thing I installed was this AFE stage 2 cold air intake. Noticable power difference, and will give better mpg. Monday im going to have a dual in/out 3" magnaflow installed that has a built in xpipe. get rid of the factory restricted motor. If all this does not help, k2 memorial day will run me broke in just fuel | |

| get a custom tune, a hell of a lot better than a programmer... www.nelsonperformance.com and he can tune it for the intake and exhaust... | |

| yeah, wheatley is another good one, along with black bear. You can't go wrong with either one of those.. I suggested nelson, since he is somewhat local.. he is in San Antonio | |

I used to have an '02 2500 4x4 with the 6.0, auto, 4.10's and 33" BFG A/T's. all stock it got me about 10-11 mpg's all around and about 5-6 mpg's towing an 8-9k lbs. trailer. After a K&N intake, Magnaflow 3" in /out, and a Hypertech tuner, it pulled a lot better but only improved my mpg's to about 12-13 mpg's all around and about 6-7 towing. Still a bitch with only a 26 gal. gas tank. There was also an annoying exhaust drone @ about 45 mph and it was pretty loud overall. A good stereo might be a upgrade to think about.

| i hope i dont get a drone. did you use the dual in/ dual out magnaflow? thats the only reason i steered away from flowmaster. the drone. towing was like 9mpg roughly and everyday driving is 10.5mpg | |

It was the dual in / dual out. The installer cut the pipes just before the stock muffler, welded on the Magnaflow and ran dual tailpipes out the passenger side. It sounded great most of the time. A little loud under heavy load. But it did improve the towing performance. Going I-10 west around Fredrickberg towing the trailer up the steepest grade in stock form, the truck slowed down to 49 mph, pedal to the floor, don't remember if downshifted to second or third gear. After the mods, same load, same hill, the truck held at no less than 62 mph.
