| My name is Mike. I am a shift worker. Liberty is located about 40 miles east of Houston. My wife and I are new to Jeeps but have done some mild offroading a few years back and I missed it. We are making plans to explore the San Juan Mts. (Telluriude. Ouray, Co.) in July. I traded in my low mileage 6 speed SSR to get a 2010 Sahara Unlimited. The Sahara is real close to stock for now. I did install a new skid plate to protect the oil pan & transmission/tranfer case area. Installed a vapor canister reloction kit. That plastic vapor canister was hanging down too low in the stock location. I don't like hood prop rods, they are always in the way when its time to work under the hood. Installed gas struts so I don't have to use the prop rod.
We wanted to make the River Road/Topless event but... had to work. Looking forward to meeting other members.

| Welcome aboard!
I've been through the San Juans both via 4x4 and by snowmobile. It's a beautiful area no matter what time of year. The Southern San Juans still have about 46" of snow on the marker at most passes. The northern area didn't get much snow this year so you probably won't see much of anything left over in July. I suspect if you run the southern region, you'll encounter a little snow <12K feet.
