Houston BBQ gathering (input needed)

Jody had a great idea of getting together for some BBQ. It's Texas and summer time so it sounds like a plan. I'm throwing it out there to see when/where is good for everyone most people. Here are some thoughts for places:

1. Park
2. Somebody's house
3. BVORR ($10/person to enter, $5/person for overnight, $200 for the whole group including overnight)

Let's start getting some input and we'll hammer out a date and location.

I'd definitely be down for something like this if BVORR is involved. I've wanted to go back for a while now.

i agree, it's been too long since i've been wheelin and i've never made it to BVORR yet.

Looks like we're getting some interest from out of towners. If we get enough people together, we could get the group rate which includes overnight for those who want to camp. We can break it down by Jeep so if we can get 10 Jeeps, it'd only be $20 each. I can cover the deposit and paying up front. We just need to figure out a date. Those of you who've already chimed in can just update your post with suggestions. Their rates go up starting July 1st ($300 with $150 deposit) so hopefully we can organize this for sometime in June. Maybe the 12th or 26th? I'll email them to see if it's available either weekend.

the complex that I live in has a pool but parking is a little limited

ooooo - I have a pool!! And don't really need a reason to fire up the pit either.

Let me talk to the MrsRG about dates... someone is borrowing the camper the weekend of 6/12 which means more parking - plenty of parking in the back yard for overflow.

No wheeling here unless you count my yard....

Might rent a waterslide for the kids if we decide to do it here.

LilG might even give TerrorChicken a run for his money in the flex dept...

Pool time sounds good with this heat rolling in. Just an fyi, I checked with BVORR and they're available for either June 12th or 26th. If pool shenanigans are was the masses want, we can try to do BVORR later down the road.

I'm definitely up for either. The hard part is getting everyone to chime in. Naturally, I didn't pick the best time to post this since everyone is probably already on the road heading to K2.

I am in for any weekend. Especially BVORR, it's 20 minutes from my house. Let me know when you get a final date. I just got my upgrades done, and dyin to wheel it.

Anytime is good for me.

Well if RG is volunteering his pool (everyone promise no pee-pee in the pool).

We're supposed to hit the 100f mark this weekend. And its only gonna get worse! I say pool party so that no one ends up in the hospital with heat stroke (namely me!!!)

We can't make the weekend of the 19th though- we're going to Arkansas for a few days.

It's sounding like RG's for some pool fun may be the direction we're going. Are we all still thinking the 12th or is that too soon? Yeah, I was wondering just how much longer daytime wheeling would be an option with the heat. I guess I'll let BVORR know that we're not going to be reserving.

Just a head's up to those still wanting to wheel there, Texas 4WD Club has a semi-monthly meeting every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 2pm. There's no charge to attend the meeting and they usually go wheeling afterwards.

Yeah- that is the Bryan/College Station chapter. Most of us are members of the Katy chapter because it is closer. Katy chapter only meets the first Friday of each month.
