JKS Disconnects installed.

Just got through installing some JKS quick disconnects (thanks Marshall), and went for a test drive and all seems well. The directions said to keep the swaybar at a 10 degree angle, but I just marked where it was set with the factory links and kept it there with the JKS links. Notice I did not have to extend the link at all (only have a 2" lift). Let me know if anything seems majorly wrong, so I can fix it. I still need to install the storage pins but that should get done this weekend. BTW, getting the factory links off was a beeeaaach.

I post this from time to time but am I the only one who runs without a sway bar at all? I haven't had a sway bar on the jeep in two years and over 45,000 miles and never regretted it. Its cheaper than buying discos and you never have to get down in the mud and sand to hook up/un hook them or worry about a link slashing a tire at full flex. Of course I only have 2" lift and will go to 33's. I'm sure the handling characteristics change on a higher vehicle.

P.S. I kept the rear swaybar as it doesn't seem to interfere with flex too much.

I had not heard of this. After spending all weekend thinking about it, if they can deny a claim because you didn't have a sway bar, couldn't they deny a claim because you have larger wheels and tires? Or a lift?

My Anti-Rock doesn't need to be disconnected, yet it stays stable and planted in the rocks and on the road

Your insurance company can deny a claim once you change out factory safe guards. There is a reason for vehicles to have sway bars. Bigger tires and lift can also be a factor. Example, if your insurance claims that because you raised your bumper 4 inches higher from factory and that made the accident a lot worse, they might not pay out certain damages. If any at all.
My stinger sits out out way away from my rig, I have 4.5" of lift, if I side swipe someone on the road and my insurance is being sued by the other company for $100K+, they could claim they were not aware of all the aftermarket stuff on my Jeep, and basically tell me I'm on my own. Not 100% sure, but i do know that I have made my rig a lot more dangerous (for others) in the event of an accident.

I have been up front with my insurance company and they have an excel spreadsheet that I e-mailed to them for the parts of my Jeep.
I am in the process of photo documenting all this part by part, in the event of a theft, or accident. Because I want them to pay me all the parts, plus labor, shipping and taxes. Most of us have too much invested in these rigs, so I want my insurance premiums set for what my rig is worth.

Don't want to be negative, but i've been bent over a couple of times by insurance companies and they can do what they want.
Unless you are willing to pay big dollars for a lawyer in hopes that you can beat their lawyers.

Actually, BigTman is a lawyer, maybe he can chime in and give us some advice. I have heard never to tell your insurance that you have more than 3" of lift, not sure if that is true.

I will like to know more about this. I have been running disconnected since my swaybars bent on my last offroad trip and I actually like how it rides.

Dutchboy is right, any modification made to your vehicle that changes the factory safty characteristics will almost always give your insurance a reason to void your coverage. This is especially true if you dont inform your insurance that you have done these modifications. Sasch's stinger is a perfect example of a claim that would be denied if the insurance company was uninformed. Head on colision with a smaller suv and the stinger very possible would result in killing, or at the very least critically injuring the opposing driver/passenger. If your jeep is a daily driver or at least sees a substancial amount of road time; then it is best to be as up front as possible and just pay the higher premiums. It will beat the hell out of getting screwed in the event of something terrible happening.
