Not exactly the answer for your question but I have a 32mm bored throttle body and also a 1" 32mm spacer and I could feel the difference in acceleration response. It’s not a huge difference but you can feel it. Don’t go buying any expensive brand since the gains are not worth the expense. I got both of them off ebay relative cheap. You exchange your TB for a bored one to keep the cost down.

I'm looking at picking up a '97 4-banger TJ myself, so this is kind of interesting, but if it's anything at all like the 4.0L, the only measurable benefit will be to the credit card company's bottom line. Like so many other engine mods, they only benefit you if they're the bottleneck to begin with, and the ability of the intake manifold to feed air and fuel is not the bottleneck.

Like r_unda said, you may "feel" some slightly better throttle response, but other than maybe hearing more of a sucking or whooshing sound, there won't really be any other feedback.

If you want to make it snappier off the line, I think really the proper solution is going to be gearing deeper. That may limit your overall top speed, though.
