Any Thoughts? Please refrain from "that lift suxs"... Sure both cost a bit more, but with one you avoid possible warranty issues and other will deliver both on and off road performance. I have thought about the lift for over a year, so I am definitely doing one or the other eventually.

Not sure if anyone noticed but Ancira Jeep shows a coupon that states
"Vehicle Lift Kits, Specifically Made For Your Vehicle, No More Worry About Fit From The Aftermarket Kits
Dealer Cost + 10% On Any Mopar Lift Kit Purchased
Will not void warranty of the vehicle if purchased through dealership. Only original OEM Mopar kits bought through the dealership. For more information on this special or any other parts special here at Ancira Chrysler Jeep, please contact our Parts Department at 210-558-1580. All prices plus government fees and taxes. Picture may not represent actual part.
Offer expires 3/31/2011."

I have the 2 dr-2008 JK purchased new, with the lifetime warranty, so that lift looks decent $1500 parts + $500 labor.

Otherwise it is the AEV Premium about $1500 either self-installed or possibly by Screaming Lizard.

$1500 for 2inches of lift? plus $500 to install?

You can get a lot more for your jeep for $2,000.00 than 2 inches of lift.

And most of us work for beer, or jack daniels and have installed many a lift.

You have to get what you want and if the warranty is your biggest concern then go for it.

The hell with the warranty, it's not going to cover anything you break while wheeling anyway, unless your like someone we all know that just happened to get hit by a refrigerator on the high way, after wheeling all day!?!

$2000.00 is too much for 2" lift. For that much you can get adjustable control arms, springs, track bars and shocks.

X2 on Jeff's & Robert's comments. The burden of proof is on Chrysler for the warranty. They have to prove that what you install directly resulted in the failure of your component. For daily driving activity that is gonna be a tough row to hoe for them. If your out wheeling the snot our of it and you break an axle or a drive shaft, you're probably on your own anyway.

You can buy one seriously sick kit for that much money. The lift they are selling you will cost them maybe $1000. The rest goes into old Ernesto's pockets. Two other things to consider. First, the Mopar lift isn't even manufactured by Mopar. It is OEM'd to Mopar by somebody who sells it under their own name. It's probably a pretty good 2" lift, but there is no way it's worth $2000! Second, don't fall for their sales pitch, "vehicle lift kits made specifically for your vehicle" BS. All lift kits are made specifically for JK's, TJ's , YJ's, XJ's (that's for you, Chris Very Happy) etc. The only lift kit that would be made specifically for your vehicle, would be one you had made from raw materials. $2k wouldn't even begin to cover the cost of something like that.

There are some good lifts for way less than $2K that you can buy. For that matter, I'd recommend my lift if your rig is gonna be a DD with occasional moderate to moderate-high wheeling. It is a Rancho 4" Sport Lift. They run $1150-ish for a Rubicon (Less for X's, sports, and Sahara's). But, there is a $500 rebate going on right now, making it like $650 for a 4". Go to one of the major 4WD accessory places online and search Rancho 4" Sport Lift". Going that way will leave you $1350 for other mods!!!! Of course, if that one isn't your cup of tea, then there are others out there. I'm just pitching what I have experience with.

I say run from Ancira's "deal" and don't ever look back. Good luck.

PostSubject: Re: Mopar 2" DealerInstall vs AEV Premium Self Install   Mopar 2" DealerInstall vs AEV Premium Self Install Icon_minitimeFri 25 Mar 2011, 9:20 am

I guess dealers vary from one to the other. I was actually surprised that Ancira has it written that the dealer installed Mopar lift will not void the warranty. I was surfing and ran across it. However, when I talked to service they have 1 guy who has installed 1. Not real confidence, there... The dealerships are missing a huge potential market.

I would prefer a complete kit that balances street and off-road; therefore the AEV Premium looks the best to me. It would be a compromise to get the Mopar for warranty issues. However, it is a pretty complete kit (springs, bilstien shocks, etc...). AEV is better.

I haven't had much luck with shops who want to sell the cheapest or the biggest lift. There is a big difference in a body lift and a suspension lift. I'm thinking quality of driving along with meshing with OEM equipment of the Jeep. I'll probably pull the trigger on the AEV in the next couple weeks....

Yah, I failed to mention that in my last response. Ancira sells quite a few lifted jeeps. If they only have 1 technician that has only installed 1 lift, that should tell you something. They outsource almost all of their lift installations.

If your only options are either the AEV or the Ancira "deal", then I would go AEV.

Is the warranty only on the suspension lift components? If so, you could probably buy a whole new kit for the cost difference between "Mopar" and another 2" kit if something breaks. I believe the Mopar kit is just a Rubicon Express kit at twice the price. Also, I could see a dealer saying "Yeah, that Mopar lift didn't cause the problem, it was the larger than OEM tires that did. Therefore we can't cover it...".

I spent about $800 (plus a couple of lunches!) on my Teraflex 2.5" Coil Lift (w/shocks).

The AEV lift sounds like your best bet for what you are looking for. Dealer lift for $1500 would have to be the 3.5" Rubicon express superflex kit to be worth it. RE sells that kit for $1649.00 and dealers can probably sell it for a little less. Other than that, $2000 is crazy money. I'd get you a 2" lift installed it for $1500 if you want me to. It will be the same budget boost ancira sells and probably a few more parts that they don't include What a Face and i'll call it a "deal"

really, there are plenty of more complete and better priced kits. AEV premium kit is a good alternative. But I will warn you, no kit is truely "complete" but the AEV premuim kits seems pretty close. It's missing adj rear upper control arms and Front LCA to correct pinion angles and driveshafts.

good luck with your choice and be ready to buy pizza and beer to get ppl over for the install Wink

AEV 3.5", AEV Pintler Wheels, and 35s. Couldn't be much happier with it.
