| hey guys I have a question
I just found out that they now offer comcast in our area!!!!!!!
I was wondering if any of you have their high speed internet?
if you do have it do you like it? Is it fast? Our current provider sucks and we are looking for something better.
oh yeah how is comcasts customer service?
any feed back would be very helpful!!!

| I use comcast and consider it pretty fast, but don't have much to compare it to. My last ISP was dial-up. Haven't had any need for customer service, so I can't grade them either. I've had comcast since they bought out Time warner. | |

| I have comcast and am happy with it. I have the basic internet and it is fast enough to watch video's and download music pretty fast. If you are into gaming or other high speed stuff they do have faster versions (for more money of course)
I have the bundle and have no complaints about the phone service either. One price unlimited long distance.

thanks again guys for your feedback and reviews!!!!!!!!!1 I had the same problem in my old neighborhood and it really pissed me off - my neighbors across the street had cable and cable modem but all I could get was DSL which isnt bad but still has a suck factor of about 5 with dial up bieng a solid 10 and Sat about a 3. If you can get 6m then your gonna be real happy fast enough for most anything as well as decent gaming too... if anyone is in to that... They (Comcast) told me that I could pay to have the cable ran at about 2 grand and I told them to get humped. I thought about getting the others on my street (about 6) that didnt have access either and after askng a few they said that they were happy with Sat tv and DSL so I just dropped it. I have cable internet now and love it...... now I just want FIOS!!!!

| After Jennie told me the price of ATT last night, I was shocked at how low it was- I'm paying $100/mth for Windstream 6m DSL. I've been with them so long I just assumed that was normal rate for 6m DSL. SO last night I took a look at my bill (I never look at the bill, I just pay it), and I see that I'm paying $28 for the DSL, and the rest is all sorts of other fees that I have no idea what the hell they are. I'm going to have to look into it for sure.
But then I wonder if the $35 for ATT service, I wonder if they will turn around and tack on all those misc ser charges on to that price like windstream.

| I had wireless service through AT&T/Cingular about a year an a half ago. Really liked it, pretty good download speeds and pretty reliable. You then have access wherever you are located. I used it from California to Texas. Unfortunately there is no cell tower that provides decent connection where I live now.
I really liked the service however. Laptop with car charger and you are pretty mobile.

| AT&T is supposed to be MUCH better than Comcast...I've been using Comcast for a long while as we used to have Time Warner but Comcast took them over. Comcast is good and fast...I pay for a business account and that is 8mbps - so if you're getting 6 mbps standard from AT&T - that's a great deal! I pay $80 for my account on JUST THE INTERNET SERVICE ALONE!
I tried to get AT&T but, of course, it isn't offered in my neighborhood yet! The kicker is my friend 5 minutes from the house has it! WTH!?!

I know what you mean by your neighbor having service and them not offering it to you. out here if you did not have main road access you could not get crap....we have been on sat internet for years now and it sucks.......... Geo still has not wired the house yet (there are no phone jacks in the house, there was one in the Hall way long time ago but G took down that wall...lol)so I am still on this stupid slow ass service.......he's just been too busy.

| geez that sucks.... it could be worse... it could be dial up, At that speed it must seem like dial up though. I was going to post a bunch of high quality pics just to be cruel but figured that the chances of me needing your help on the trail one day are relatively high..... Good luck with the new stuff! | |

| Jennie - if you don't need to use the phone line, that is, just need it to get the DSL, ask for a "metered line." Metered lines have very low monthly fees, but you're only allowed something like 10 free local calls - after that, you pay by the minute. My total bill each month for basic DSL and metered line is around $31.00 from AT&T.
FWIW, comcast has the 3rd worst rating of all major companies for customer service. They also have been caught lieing to regulators about filtering internet traffic.
I have also been doing long-term tracking of my AT&T bill (don't ask - let's just say "billing issue") - I've noted that the taxes and fees fluctuate up and down each month, but in general, they are on an upward trend. I was paying $28 last year.
(FWIW, I get about 1.5MB/s down and almost nothing "up" - the only option I have is basic, and no option for cable, but I still wouldn't go with comcast, myself.)
