| that thing is sexy! .40 is a good round too - get some good expandable ammo to go with it. Corbon is what I use and I have tested everything from remington golden saber, federal hydrashok, winchester black talon etc... They took the Black Talon ammo off the shelf a few years back because it was "too" destructive (WTF) - that stuff was wicked. We shot it into wet phone books etc.. before we got our hands on some ballistic gel and all ammo did a good job of holding together - the hydrashoks looked like freakin ash treys once they expanded and the talons, while they didnt expand as much as the shoks they had jagged points where the jacket would fold out which did bad things to the body as the bullet spins through.... just right for Mr Terd IMO... I understand that Winchester SXT ammo is basically the same thing... but have not personally verified it. Bottom line is you want something that is gonna stay in the body and not go through and through (high velocity fmj etc...) causing the most hydrostatic shock (stopping power) and internal damage. Corbon DPX Winchester Ranger SXT Both side by side: | |

| Ron, you are correct. Another reason Winchester took the Black Talon's off the market because the name was not PC enuff. And there were several reports in the national media about how destructive the rounds were. ER doc's were interviewed saying how terrible and deadly the Talon's were. Idiots, you dont shoot cotton balls out of a Glock. So, they changed the name to SXT (supreme xpansion talon).....LOL. Same ammo, just not black. I still have several boxes of the Talon's I saved up for "special occassions"..... | |

I am gonna use that one!!! if it is OK with you! I dont have any Talon ammo left.... I do have some of the Remington Copper solid ammo stashed away.... they have been talking about taking that stuff off the shelf for years. It is like a hydrashok for your shotgun!!! 1oz hollow point rolling at about 1550.... have the shot gun loaded with buckshot - slug - buckshot - slug then four more OO bucks just for grins. JOE HORN FOR PRESIDENT!!!! | |
