| Added a small 3k winch on the rear bumper of the jeep, now looking for a better way to wire it, I ran the power wires inside the back door along the floorboard and under the passenger side wireway and thru the firewall behind the panel near the passenger door. I would like a better way to conceal the wiring in the back, I run no carpet and seat most of the time and dont like the idea of cutting the wire with gear in the back... suggestions? | |

| I would run it underneath along the frame rail. Why a 3lb.? It's not powerful enough to pull the jeep out. Tree limbs, etc.? | |

| 3000lb is enough to get out of small holes, off high center situations, and to keep on track on off camber situations. Not meant to replace the 9500lb I have on the front and a snatch block, but cheap enough and easy enough to keep from having to use a hi lift when wheeling alone.

| I don't have any room on my front bumper for a winch unless I get a bigger bumper. I would like to atleast have somthing. Would a rear winch help me out? What size do you recomend? And how should I mount it? | |

| I would say no, I would not have a rear winch without the front one for primary uses. The rear is not really for extractions as much as small tasks, off camber situations, high centered, and its only like 40 ft of cable so its got to be close to a fixed object. | |

You should be able to find a winch plate. That should solve your issue. I had one on my TJ that just mounted under the 4 bolts on the recovery hooks. Rancho used to make one. | |

| It looks good Russ - should come in handy. I have seen a device made out of square tubing that fits in the receiver hitch and creates a high point lift using a couple of pulleys. Easy to build and handy to have around the house as well as the woods... I have one that has a hand crank on it - that 3k would be nice. | |
