| johnny Jk it took awhile. man I was just gonna make a square bumper like a Rancho but NOOOOOO Renee had a picture and a hard picture of one at that. I said OK I never made one before but what the hell. I messed up at first with the top piece because Renee showed me the picture after I already started. alot of cutting pieces and welding on the backside. The right side level is off about 1/4" but its passable. The hard part that scared me was the spindle. I got online and saw everybody who sold one but I went to Southwest wheel and bought the bearings, spindle and hub. I had to cut off the hub flange and grid it down but its cool. I just didnt want it cracking and falling off at 70 mph with a 33" and hurting someone. I read a few message boards about spindles cracking but I think they were with bigger tires. Maybe a week and a half a couple of hours every night. I bought the steel in 1/4" front & 3/16" bottom at Ashley Salvage. Comes in 20' lengths 4", 6" or wider widths , made the job easier. Damm just alot of cutting, welding, grinding. Renee want lower to look out the rear view mirror and salvage the brake light so I made the swing gate to fit the OEM carrier. Had to re-run the light wires andf CB cable . So far so good | |

| Looks great - did you fold down the safety chain connects on the stock hitch, or did you make a new hitch?

| the reciever / safety chain loops are one piece that is bolted to the frame / seperate and not part of the bumper. the front bottom edge of the bumper ends on the downward , it does not fold under the bumper. I thought about making it fold underneath, but I figured it was more work for really nothing. I did make 2 brackets 1 each side under the bumper that bolts to the frame underneath. | |
