| This past weekend I had a little accident. I caught some sort of road debris that caused my front drivers tire to blow. There was a momentary loss of control as the Jeep rapidly veered to the left striking a k-rail. Note, there wasn’t much of a shoulder as this k-rail is a temp fixture to protect road crews doing some sort of lighting work??? Anyway, I smacked it good, no body damage, but the short side of my axle bent and is basically ripped from the housing. The Jeep is basically fine otherwise.
I could have just called a tow truck, but the first person that came to mind was my Jeeping buddy George (redneckhouston). He lives a little over an hour away from where I had my incident, but he and some other of my Jeeping family dropped what they were doing, picked up a trailer and came to help me get the rig back to my house. No hemming or hawing, they just did what they do. Back up their friends. George, Jennie, Tim, Steve, and Shannon came to the rescue and the cop that stopped to help me was pretty impressed. Hell, I told him I wouldn’t be surprised if they has brought an open axle assembly along lol…don’t think that thought didn’t cross George’s mind either hahaha. Major kudos to these guys!
Anyway, in light of what our favorite Californian seems to promote consciously or not… separation within the community, this is how it should be. Even if it wasn’t me, I know these guys would come to help any Jeeper out there. That is part of what makes our little enthusiast community great. Hopefully we can all keep it that way! | |

| That's the way it works! It's not all about wheeling- it's knowing you have someone to help out in any situation. And I'll just confirm there was no hemming/hawing when you called. It was immediate action- Geo, Jenny and Timmay were on their phones tracking down a trailer. Meanwhile I knew I was the only rig there with a spare tire, and I was the only one with a toll tag. So I was loading up my chit to bring you the spare so we could at least get you rolled off the tollway. | |
