| I'm going to take my kids to Schlitterbahn sometime here in the next week or two. I haven't been since I was a teenage in the mid 80's. Looking at the website it now looks like there are three seperate parks. My kids are 4, 6, and 8. Which of the three New Braunsfels areas/parks do you all recommend? Thanks. | |

| I used to go every summer when I was a kid and did the same thing last year. The old site is a dump IMO - it was overcrowded and just plain nasty. I ended up just floating around in the tube thing until the kids got tired. I think we ended up at Chuck E Cheeses.
We went to one of the newer places and it wasn't as bad but it was crazy crowded.
I won't go back to the old place, I might go back to the "East" or "West" sites but tit won't be on a holiday weekend....

| We spent a couple days there with the kids 2 years ago. You get access to all 3 areas when you go. Each of the areas has different things for all different ages. So you're ok going to any one area and staying put, or traveling between the areas and exploring it all.
When we went, we rented one of the "cabins" on site. That was a blast! We could go back and relax at any time. Plus they keep some of the rides open for a couple hours after the park closes, just for the people that are staying on site. So you get to go hit those with no lines.

I would have been OK with staying on site and just hanging out at the west location so the kids could just play and enjoy themselves. I was pretty disgusted with the main park - the one that I grew up at, I guess that I had a picture in my head that was 25 years old....... I was sitting there waiting for my kids to slide down one of the slides when a freaking tampon floated by..... that was it for me. I realize that the tampon was not the park's fault, it was just the last straw for me. IMO - stick to the newer areas, one has a nice wave pool which equals chill while the kids swim.
