My company lets us build up over time hours as comp time. We can then use that like vacation. I tend to have a lot of vacation time left over. This past Nov/Dec a shuttle launch slipped and I had to change my schedule and I was about to lose 2 weeks of vacation time. They let me sell some of my comp time and carry over the extra vacation time if I promised to use it within 3 months. Small companies seem to flex the rules for the employees.

Todd- I know the vacation issue well. I get 6 weeks per year, and our company has always been "use it or lose it". The problem is that the "usual' time of year that normal people take vacation time (IE: Summer) is our busy time and I can't afford to be MIA during that time. So I always end up with a lot of vacation time due come December, and usually end up taking most of the entire month of December off.

hey Todd, report back on Sea World, we are doing our first family trip next month. thanks Tony i figured it was going to be hot!!! Not looking forward to that part.

fair warning...Seaworld is fun but there's a lot of walking around in the heat! Last time I went it was blazing and gettin around wasn't too fun! Hydrate-Hydrate-Hydrate!

Finally, after almost 3 years, getting to use some of my vacation time. I get over 7 weeks a year, but job responsibilities kept me from using it. This year, rules changed and you have to use it or lose it. It was nice getting paid for 7 weeks but even nicer taking two weeks.

Claudina and I have decided to come to SA for a few days. We will be staying down at the Riverwalk the 29th, 30th and 1st, leaving on the 2nd. We have never been to SeaWorld, so we will be doing that on Tuesday, if I don't die from heat stroke........ Very Happy

Still trying to figure out what to do on Monday and Wednesday. Really want to go to the Little Rhein Steak House or Morton's. Really want to see the Mission's play, but I think they are out of town next week.... Crying or Very sad

Anyway, any suggestions?? We've done the LS brewery, Alamo and Fiesta Texas....maybe something inside with lots of A/C???.......LOL.
