| Hey everybody! I've always wanted a Jeep, and I finally got my first one here in late April, a 2006 Wrangler X 6spd, bone stock, with 3.73's, an LSD, and cruise being the only options to speak of, and since then I've both learned and invested way more in time and money than I ever thought I would. I never used to turn a wrench on my vehicles, but now it's common to have grime under my nails. I'm just looking to find some cool folks to go wheeling with and from whom I can learn about wheeling and which lines to take, etc. I'm looking at swapping out the rear for a Ford 8.8 and locking both front and rear, but for now it's an open D30 front and LSD D35c rear. Other than the lift, everything is and will be been done by me, and I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do even as-is. She's currently running on a 3" complete Teraflex suspension lift with 33x12.50R15 BFG M/T KM2's, with their quick-disconnects, and recover gear is limited at the moment to Crosby D-shackles mounted out front (and the rear as soon as my custom bumper/carrier arrives) and a Superwinch EPi9.0 with Viking Offroad synthetic rope and 10' tree saver. I'm looking forward to heading out on the trails! Here's a pic from this past week when I finally got the IPF 968 lights all wired up: | |

| Welcome Deacon. Jeeps are fun to work on. Yours is looking good. A rear JK D44 would be a lot easier to swap in. All the mounts, bolt pattern and ESP / ABS stuff is already there. Keep an eye out for our "Install Parties". Its a good way to learn how to do stuff the "hands on way". Hope to see you around. | |

| Thanks! Yeah, I've considered all of that, but I don't have ABS to worry about, the 8.8 is cheap and readily available (and brings the disc brake conversion, too), and I can get the hardware kit for like $125 or $150 and weld it all on myself. Other than spacers, that's pretty much all I need. We'll see, though. If you know of any good deals on a JK D44 (or TJ D44 for that matter), let me know. The bolt pattern is different on the JK's, btw. 5x5, IIRC, while the TJ is 5x4.5. PS I've spent more hours pouring over JeepForum.com than I can count | |

| Yeah, I know it's been over a month since I last posted, but I'm not dead With the holidays, trying to take care of TWO hunting leases (trust me, the second one was almost a full-time job on its own), neither of which with any decent internet access, hunting, traveling on business, a new dog (little doxie puppy), and recently a new lady friend in my life, I've been pretty much tapped out. Plus, the Jeep has been mostly out of sight, out of mind, since the weather hasn't been that great consistently around here, so I end up hopping into the truck by default and leaving the Jeep sitting in the garage most of the time. I'll try to annoy you all more consistently, though | |

Hey, btw, I've still got a pair of Longhorn-branded camp chairs of yours that you'd forgotten at Long's last time... That's right, better get them before Terrahawk burns them. Maybe we can meet up at the Jeep meet and get them back to me. Also, where in town to you work? I am near the airport. Maybe we can meet up sooner. | |
