| Good luck with the surgery, looks intense. My back is slowly healing, but it will take another 6+ months before it is completely healed. I am still weak in doing manual type labor, so I don't have a lot of chores around the house. So it is a win-win situation for me. lol I do wear a back brace that has helped me a lot, you can't really tell I wear one. Glad my injury doesn't require the surgery, but I have to be mindfull of my back from now on. I should be a full health sometime next year again. BTW, I still have some numbness in my legs from time to time. | |

| Holy fawkin owwweee batman... this suks. The Delotid / Hydromorphone stacked with relaxants is a bonus.... hawt nurse factor of about a 1.. but they are really taking good care of me. The doc said that the piece of ruptured disk was bigger than he expected (about as big as the end of his thumb) I *think* that the numbness is better in my lower leg but it may be wishful thinking. I am up and walking and it hurts like a mother.... the pain medicine keeps me from "crying like the bitch that I am" You can blind me with dental floss right now.... | |

| Home now... Planet Sucks.... population ME... F'en hurts but it is what it is and will get better over time, just working on the basics right now like standing up and getting around. Everything is taken care of around there and my folks are taking turns on shifts to be here when I need something. The neighbors are taking care of cooking duties and rotating yard duties. I sure feel lucky that I have some good folks in my life.
Those folks include you too!
Thanks! | |

yep.... my blood draws were 4am every morning. The worst part was the the b!tch who did it would flip the light on without any warning. They did vitals every hour and would usually give me a sec to get my hand or arm up to block the lights. I told the blood lady that a one to two second warning would be nice and she mumbled something about doing her job... whatever. I woke up every 8 mins to hit the little button that allowed me to mainline some Dilaudid which sure made the stay tolerable. That stuff was good but it was nice to get away from it, I could see where it would be dangerous...

| Been a little while since I posted an update so I thought I would. Went to the Dr visit on the third week since the surgery and got them to print me a set of the Xrays so I could see what they had done back there.... I can say that I have been through some relatively tough shit as far as broken stuff goes but this one takes the cake. The good news is that I have exceeded their expectations at every milestone - they wanted me to walk once around the ward at the hosp on day 3 and I did it twice... they wanted me to walk one mile (treadmill) by week three and I did 2.5 so I am working hard to get where I need to be. I have more good days than bad.... there are times that it hurts real f'n bad.... it is worse in the morning.... it just plain f'n sucks in the morning... so I still need the pain pills first thing in the morning - I was able to go all day today on Tylenol until I started working on cleaning the pool and did a little too much... so I went back to my chair and waited a bit before taking something for the pain. The sooner I get off the pain pills the sooner I start driving again and believe it or not I am ready to get back to work! I will just have to postpone my shot on "So You Think You Can Dance" Here are the photos - six screws, and rods connecting the three screws on both sides with one rod connecting both sides...

I'm sure you are ready to get back to work- you're probably going stir-crazy. Man, you just don't know.... daytime TV is terrible unless you are into the train wreck that is Springer or are in to Tyra/Okra/whoever.... and I just cannot stand soaps.... so I Tivo the crap out of movies and stuff and have been cleaning crap around the house as much as possible... My cousin came in from St. Luis and rented one of the Corvette ZHZs... he asked if I wanted to go for a ride and I said "hell yes!" I knew I could get in the thing but getting out might be an issue... might have to get a crane! Well - no crane needed, we had a freakin blast and aired that thing out like crazy on a new stretch of 99 - I just wish I could have driven it!! You an rent them for about $100 a day from Hertz.... I just might have to splurge on the next trip where we need a rental car. Even Lil' G got some wheel time..... good thing he couldn't reach the gas pedal!

| Glad your recovery is going well. That surgery looks painfull. Is it going to effect your mobility when it is all healed? Might have to keep the Corvette rental in mind for next years Dustball Rally. | |
