i just picked up a sheet of 3/16" metal and some sch. 80 pipe. going to try and mimic the xhd shorty bumper and build a similar one with a swing out tire carrier for the rear. the left over metal will be used to build some rocker protection and the tube to add some rail steps. pics later when mock up begins.
no hard feelings for the sticker remarks.....i am a member of jk-forum, but i am also a member of alot of other jeep forums. just making new friends and jeep connections. keep on wheelin'.

It really amazes me how cheap the stock stuff is... it is a damn shame. Wouldn't stop a shopping cart rolling down hill.

here is how she sits so far. was able to work on it a couple of hours today after all. tomorrow i will grind and smooth. and by teusday i "should" have it all finished and bolted up. then i can start on the rear that night or maybe wed. night, shooting to have that done by sat. :mischieviousbi

Hey that's great work! Did you bend the metal at a shop with a press or something? I'd love to work metal that way...the things I could do!! Looks like so much fun...and talk about saving $$$! Lemme know...also, what kind of welding did you do? Is that mig?

(sorry - I don't know anything about metal-works, I just really find it INTERESTING and would like to try it one day)
