| Can anyone recommend any? I don't really want real ones because I'm trying to play it on a very tight budget unless someone has some they are dying to get rid of and are pretty cheap. | |

| My opinion of fake/simulated beadlocks... They look cool, but are only for mall crawlers. Reason I say that is: take one look at my wheels- rock rash! Simulated beadlocks will get even worse rock rash, possibly even be torn off. Even if they aren't torn off, they are going to look like crap after a couple times wheeling. Now if I'm gonna have rock rashed beadlocks that look bad, then they better at least be real and serving a real purpose. - Maverick1701 wrote:
- since you are trying to find fake beadlocks...dont they make those simulated bead lock rings?
IIRC they are fairly cheap and come in different colors....so you can match your outfit
$60-$80
http://www.4wd.com/search.aspx?PN=1&kw=bead+lock+ring Guess you didn't notice that they ONLY work with Procomp wheels. And the least expensive wheel they work on is $132. So now you're looking at $200 per wheel minimum.

| Good point on the mud filling up! That would suck to clean out because you would have to do it before driving home because your wheels would be so out of balance. I know about wheels not balanced because of mud and it suck! The stock wheels tend to hold a lot of mud behind them. I imainge beadlocks real or fake would be 10x worse. | |

Would the rings at least take the abuse in place of the rim itself, so you can throw them away and still have a nice looking rim?

But the rings cost more than a set of Crager steelies Might as well just beat the hell out of some Cragers and then throw them away when they are battered... Or hire Ron Gilbert to airbrush over the rock rash

Depends on the manufacturer, Micky Thompsons won't protect the wheel at all. Not sure about the others. Check out the ones that redneckhouston has, they look good and have taken definite abuse! As for mud getting collected in there, it isn't bad and it's not like you couldn't scoop most of it out if it was really compacted with the stuff.

| ... Why isn't it your rig? You have something against mud/snow? Plus I thought the fenders were too dirty for your jeep. Its not every day I can pick on someone for having a jeep cleaner than mine. | |
