| not sure where to put this, so just do it here.
I have lots of mods going thru my head; however, I'm not talented enough to get them down in print.
Can someone help me get my ideas onto photoshop or some cad program or something?
This has mostly has to do with fenders, comp cut, rear bumper, rear stinger and cage

| LOL...yes I've got the pics saved on my comp...and the rear comp is pretty darn close to what I'm thinking fyi..I'm think that the rear cut could mimick the lines of the front (with the angle and hieght)...not sure how the back should be cut...i want a rear stinger to go through the body (kinda like the bestop tj tire carrier) on both sides (go through where the hinges are at now) and connect to the new roll cage that would be in place...the stinger would then open with the tailgate...the stinger would look a lot like what offroad evolution made (once) | |

| LMAO...thats my prob OK...take the jeep you posted and basically add a rear stinger to it (much like EVO)...the stinger would swing out like a tire carrier... however, the ends of this stinger would not go all the ends of the jeep...instead it would go through the rear of the body and attach to the rollbar on both sides (going through the point where the tailgate hinge is attached

The way you are describing, it won't work very well if at all. The stinger carrier really need to be independent to keep it simple and in my opinion more stout.

| ??? think of tube coming from the rollbar from inside the interior through the back of the body and then attached to the stinger. i don't want the stinger to only be connected to the metal quarter panels? i don't think you could get any more stout this way so why do ya say it wouldn't work...? | |

| If you did something like Steve's , it would be easy, like that EVO carrier, it ain't going to spread the mustard. You'll have to have it pivot independently. | |

| Ok if I have got this right...the way I see it the stinger would hinge with the tailgate mounted to it. The hinges are the issue. All hinges need to be on the same linear plane (like on a door) if not there will have to be a sliding arrangement, compromising the structural integrity. It could be done with a fair amount of sheet metal work (and beer). I am no engineer, just a redneck who has welded lots of BBQ pits together. Now the cross member deal I don't quite follow...as well as the purpose | |

| If I understand correctly, you want to go thru the quarter panels where the lights are on both sides and attach to the rollbars on the inside. That would be very stout. The problem I see is how would it detach? You mentioned the Rockrash design like on Steves. That carrier only attaches to the one side where it pivots. It has a secondary attachment to the tailgate to pull it open/close combined but it isn't a load carrying mount. It also wouldn't protect from the rear like a stinger. For your rear stinger/tire carrier you would need a connection with a latch or pull pin or something to disconnect the stinger on one side to allow it to pivot open. It could still have the arm that attaches to the tailgate. It would then be a two step process to open and close. Unlock the stinger. Open the tailgate/stinger carrier combo. | |

| Joe, with a stinger carrier, your tire and wheel are going to interfere with the gate opening. I can't type the explanation, I'd have to show you. basically, the tire and wheel are going to become the white center in the Oreo lol. They have to move independently. | |

| Thats what I was talking about the whole hinge alignment thang! If you hinge the rack and attach the tailgate to it......the whole Oreo will swing. | |

| OK...armor...looks like it gonna be EVO builder kit (no flares)...that is unless there another out there that I don't know about...anyone? So, EVO armor...1st look at the pic below: ...now pretend that wrap is the armor. So what if tubing outlined the armor (such as where the fake rivots are in the pic, minus the door)? thoughts? | |
