| That place is great, it’s huge, trails are well marked, and there is a bit for everyone. We had 12 rigs 18 people, kick in the paints for sure. If TSJM goes, it’s a must,,,, but if they do and your thinking about locking, you should. I went open this summer, and had little issue… add fallen leaves to the trail= added difficulty. I am locked now, and glad I was (and by was I mean WAS, I blew out a hub) I’ll put up some pics and vid shortly. | |

| funny, i really dont think its that big of an issue.......
barnwell has trails for everyone, last trip several jeeps were unlocked and had no issues.......
wheeling trails your rig (or you) shouldent be on , because your rig isnt built enough or you suck as a driver is just silly

| Locked? Yes being Locked is an advantage no mater what park you go to, but when the houston group went last year only 2 of us were locked and the rest got along just fine.
Now if you plan on hitting all the level 5's then yep I'd say Lock her up. But if you plan of doing 90% of the trails then not locker is needed. Now the other 10% well that's a whole nother story.

| As I said, I was open last trip no problems, between the mud and the leaves it was needed this trip.
We did mostly 2’s and 3’s the one open guy and me (after my hub gave) were struggling.
Heck, you could not walk up the slippery trails.
Perhaps they are only slippery for the first bit after they fall.

| Some terrorchicken you are........
I was one of the unlocked last year and didn't run into too many problems thanks to muh spotterz....
I will say that if the place was slick and muddy it would have been much different. We were high and dry all weekend.

Perhaps they are only slippery for the first bit after they fall. I've been to Gilmer once for two days. Once day was dry and very dusty and then it poured all night and the next day was extremely wet. I would agree with your assessment. We were in a locked trail only exo-caged Cherokee on 38's. When it was dry we made it up Dewoody and pretty much every thing we tried. When it was wet anything with a slight slope became very difficult with out lots of momentum. Its was still fun, but definitely different.
