| General Motors will unveil a new concept for its successful Hummer brand at January’s Detroit Auto Show. Even smaller than the current H3, the new concept will be called the H4 and follow in the lines of the Jeep Wrangler. Autoweek reports that a production version is likely to hit showrooms by the end of the decade, ahead of the release of the H3 pickup one year earlier. Hummer is doing exceptionally well for GM in new markets and an expanded portfolio is exactly what the brand needs right now. GM does not have a suitable platform on which to base the H4 as yet, but sources say that it’ll definitely not be front-wheel drive. For its H3 pickup, Hummer will utilize the same architecture which spawns the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. | |

| Here is a real picture. Its currently being refered to as the HX and not the H4. How much they tone down the production version will determine how well it sells in my mind. | |

Hey look I've got a Hummer......hahahahaha.....Here is how we arrived at the Jeep Jambore a couple of weeks ago. The H2 is my wifes daily driver (Jeep is our 3rd car) and occasionally gets wheeled too. I've served as a guide at a couple of Hummer Happenings, which are similar to a Jeep Jamborees, with it.

Why would I be offended. If you even read what I wrote you would know that the H2 is my wife's daily driver, not mine. I drive a F250 and my JK is my wheeling toy. The H2 makes a great tow vehicle (based on 3/4 ton Suburban) and I "borrow it" when I take the kids wheeling with me as its so much more comfortable for the whole family than my F250. If my wife listened to me she would still have her lifted Excursion with the modded Powerstroke.

| DUke, I like that fact that you are not one of "those" that think their H2 is actually capable of wheelin. The H2 Definately has all the creature comforts one wants when towing out to the trails.. | |

For what it is, it actually is great wheeler. Its just not a small nimble vehicle designed for tight trails. It is a 3/4 ton truck (mostly 3/4 ton Suburban actually) that happens to have some wheeling goodies.......14 bolt rear w/ 4.10 gears and e-locker, 35's, built in air compressor, rock rails, front and rear reciever hitches, etc...... Its capable of easily walking almost every obstacle at Long's Ranch, but should the trail get more extreme (say anything at Katemcy harder than the Waterfall Trail) then it becomes Jeep territory.
