Lil G and Rodeo Houston!!!

Little G got chosen to be in the mutton bustin' contest at the big show in Houston this year. He is stoked almost as much as I am!!! I don't know what the date will be but will post it up when I find out. We have a meeting to go to at the end of the month to find out. My buddy's boy was a 4 time champ so we will spend some time getting some tips in between now and the big show. They added mutton busting to Houston Rodeo last year and it is held right after the calf scramble and right before the concert. Winners from each night get a gold belt buckle.

Please do for next year. And let us know when you son will be in it this year. You gonna buy the DVD or try and film yourself? I can't remember if they let you take cameras in there. I don't think so.

I am going to buy the DVD and take some pics. Their quality is damn good.

Awesome! Go Little G! My oldest used to ride calves in Stonewall LA when we lived up there. It was a lot of fun!

The date is March 4th - he will compete against 10 other 5-6 y/o kids for a belt buckle just like the big rodeo cowboys (and girls).

Kenny Chesney will have a hard time following Lil G....

Wow, what a night! The whole production was fast and furious and it really went by too fast. He got to ride in the "Grand Entry" which was a big deal, got to meet the Mayor (yippie....) then on to the stadium:




We got seats down on the front row, he got a good look at the "enemy" that he was going to ride in a few hours


It was time to go and get every thing on, lucky devil had a hottie helping him get ready:

It happened so fast I was not able to snap any photos and the vid isn't very good. I will get a DVD of the whole thing in a few weeks and should be able to get some stills from that.

He got a nice buckle and a little trophy


The coolest thing was when we were walking back up the stands, he high fived every person sitting on the isle seat, all the way up the section - it was really a sight to see!

Rodeo Houston is really something special, the first one (78+ years ago!) they had they gave away a $1000 scholarship.... this year they will pay out over 1.8 MILLION in scholarships!

Priceless! Kenny Chesney should be grateful for their "opening act". Good job little man, and good job daddy making this happen for him. I think these are the cutest shows at the rodeo, all the little kids running around trying to catch, rope or ride something. Thanks for sharing.
