| Just wondering if 15" wheels will fit on the new JK, and whats the benefits of the larger wheels (17-18)?
Thanks | |

| Yes 15" wheels will fit I'm not sure what the backspacing you need but I'm sure someone with a JK will come along and let you know. As for the benefits of larger wheels.....a lighter wallet. Price out a 35" tire of your choice in 15",17", and 18". | |

| 15s definitely fit with the proper backspacing. A lot of people run 35s on 15 inch soft8 wheels. It's all about preference when it comes to wheel size. Unless you're planning on running some gigantic tires, you'll find 15-16 inch wheels will get the job done and save you money on both the wheel price and tire price when compared with larger wheels. Something else to consider is the smaller the wheel, the taller the tire, especially when you go up in tire size. Also when shopping for 15s, you need to check for possible clearance issues with the calipers. Some people have had to shave a little metal off the caliper to fit wheels. | |

| You need 3.75" back spacing. And some brand still rub the caliper.
There is no guess work with a 16"- any back spacing will fit. If you are lifting and putting larger tires, you'll want 4.5" back spacing at most on a 16"

| I suggest going with 16's or 17's just because there is a much bigger tire selection. | |

| More tire selection? I wasn't aware of that. What do you mean exactly? | |

| The quick down and dirty:
15” wheels will fit, but Jeeps tolerances aren’t exactly what I would call tight, so it can be hit and miss on what 15” wheels will fit. The same wheel might fit one JK without any issues, but will grind on the caliper of another. See N2’s post...you don’t have this concern with a 16” steel wheel because there will always be room if you have the correct back spacing.
Tires for 15” wheels are less expensive (won’t be that way much longer since more and more auto manufacturers / people run larger wheels) and you have a little more side wall than you would with tires for 17” wheels. That benefit also brings less stability on the street if you go with a large tire.
Then there is the weight, I don’t know how much of a difference, but a 15” steel wheel will weigh less than a 17” steel wheel and certainly more than an alloy equivalent.
Steel wheels can be more difficult to balance.
My advice doesn’t mean squat, but personally I’d stick with a 17” alloy.wBottom line, do what makes you happy, make it your own...not somebody elses.else.
