[quote="DangerMouse"]Lol!! I'm hardly ragging on the JKs. A Jeep is a Jeep (except in Stacy's case it's a minivan).

Careful now, you're mess'n with your heartbeat, MINI-mouse! I see lots of familiar names... - Page 2 Icon_twisted

Yup, a quick search shows a 2DR JK weighs ~152 lbs more than a TJ
a 4dr outweighs a 2dr TJ by 540 lbs
didnt say which models, but 2dr to 2 dr, 152 whole lbs!

Jeep GVWR
Year Model GVWR (lbs)
2006 Wrangler 4450

2007 Wrangler 4602

Unlimited 4990

Amazing how much 2 extra doors can add on.

Nope. You quoted GVWR (max capacity), not curb weight (how much it weighs). A gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable total mass of a road vehicle or trailer when loaded - i.e including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and trailer tongue weight. (pasted from Wikipedia)

According to allpar.com, the TJ Wrangler curb weight with the 4.0L is 3,229 lbs. Sasch's JK Unlimited Rubi with the auto transmission weighed 4340 lbs when it rolled off the assembly line. The lightest possible JK (2dr manual X) still weighs in at 3760 lbs.
