| So I bought this head unit that has a DVD player. In order to activate the video portion you need to apply the parking brake. There is a parking brake wire that needs to be grounded while the headunit is powered on and then it activates the video. Well, I decided to buy a 4 wire relay and bypass the parking brake.
Parking brake wire from HU goes to #87 Ground to #30 Remote wire to #85 Ground to #86
The way it is setup it should, once the headunit is powered on, flip the relay between the parking brake wire and the ground wire, thus activating the video, but that is not happening.
When I manually take the parking brake wire and ground it while the HU is on it will activate the video, just not with the relay.
Any advice? | |

| Thats what I am going to do tomorrow. If the other relay doesn't work either, I am just going to buy a switch and say F it.
I am going to check to see if the relay makes an audible "Click" when powered tomorrow as well

What is "remote" wire? Have you checked it w/ a voltmeter to ensure that it is POS and not GND? I presume that "Parking brake wire" is the wire from the stereo, and not from your parking brake. !c

| if the parking brake wire "grounds" the video portion, why not just run the wire straight to ground? | |

| On my video unit, I ran the parking brake wire that comes out of the unit to a switched ground. that way if the kids are watching a movie and I get stopped, I can flip the hidden switch and play dumb. | |
