last minute 4th of July plans

In a last minute begging phone call from our illustrious fire chief, I gave in and said I would cook. They had originally planned a crawfish cookoff. No one entered. So now they have 200# of live crawfish on the way and no one to cook. The pirates will be there...

If you don't have plans Sunday, you are welcome to join us. I won't make you cook. They are having live bands, moon bounces, washer and volleyball contests, a silent auction, Crawfish & Beer. All proceeds goto the La Vernia Fire Dept.

From what I was told there is no admission---just a charge for food.

This will be at the City Park in La Vernia......

They origionally said 200#.... it wound up being 2000# (ton -o- mudbugs) they had waaayy to much. Due to poor advertising, the turnout was fairly lame. We had 6 pots going at one time and they stopped us at 400#. We were cooking way faster than they were selling. The fire dept. lost their ass, which sux. The pirates came through and we had a great time.

We are looking forward to next weekend......
