My name is Clayton and I am a Diesel mechanic for a large farming operation in Sinton, about 40 miles north of Corpus Christi. I have been a jeeper for about 16 years and have been wrenching on them from the day I bought my first one. I am a die hard YJ fan ( I know, I know Wrench Monkey from Sinton Icon_rolleyes , SQUARE headlights , TRAITOR LOL) I just really like the yjs. Looking forward to being back on the trail again. I ran with the San Antonio chapter of TX4WD for several years, and was a customer and contributing mechanic at Wicked Off Road for a while. I am currently working on my latest project which entered the world as a mild mannered 90 model 2.5 YJ and is now undergoing a 4BT and NV4500 swap, which with my work schedule, is going to take FOREVER!!! I will keep ya'll posted.
I look forward to being a part of your forum and I hope I can add a little insight from the few of us DIESEL burners out here in the sticks. Keep the mud off your glass and the bears off you a$$. LATER

welcome from portland, and nah no shit will be given for the Yj. Hell man most of the best trail rides were done in a 91 Yj with a 2.5, so welcome to the club; you'll fit right in.

Probably going to go with a 35" Nitto Mud Grappler but I have a set of 40" Hawgs that go on my truck that might be interesting. The bt may have some competition though, just got a 75 4 bolt 350 today from a friend of mine whos' mud buggy got side tracked by the loss of his job. Don't know if I should use the 350 or save it for a later adventure. It would definately make for a more straight forward swap, and since all I have done so far is to pull the body/ drivetrain and box the frame, I could easily go either way. Give me some feedback to let me know what ya'll think. Thanks for all the welcomes, I feel at home already, less the nagging from the wife Wrench Monkey from Sinton Icon_lol

The 350 would be great and probably easier, not sure if it would be cheaper Wrench Monkey from Sinton Icon_smile .

BUT... I say go for the 4BT, it would be way cool Wrench Monkey from Sinton Icon_cool .
