Door Surrounds ???

I have an 08 Jk do you have to have the door surrounds to use a soft top?

okay so now im kicking myself in the ass, I bought the jeep used and it came with a hard top and a soft top, I sold the soft top because I thought i had to have the door surrounds....damn!!!!! guess we all do something stupid from time to time. Thanks for the info.

no, sorry I don't have a clue if you need the surrounds.. early morning humor gone wrong....

yes,

I guess technically you could install it without the surrounds but it would not be secure. The rear windows attach to the surrounds so you wouldn't be able to use the rear windows either.

The door surround is needed. The front of the side windows attatch to it as well as the bottom of the top (sunrider) above the doors.

You COULD install the soft top with out it, but it would not seal and flap around like crazy.
