The heater core is bad in the truck but the dealership wants $709 to replace it. Is anyone available this weekend that knows how to replace them that could help me? I can supply beer and pizza and what not.

What year is it? Cause my cousin own a couple auto shops, the whole dash needs to come out! A/C might need to be vac'ed out and then re-charged. The book calls for appx. 8 hours. He normally charges bout $760-$850. This is not a backyard type of repair! LOT OF WORK INVOVLED Need some help with the powerstroke Dana_310

This is what a TJ looked like to replace heater core.

For my truck you only need to remove the glove box and takes 4 hours (per ford repair manual)

It wasn't all too bad. The hardest part was removing the hoses from the heater core pipes. After that was done it probably took 30 mins to take it out.
