I bit the bullet today, and ordered my gears. Superior 5.13's and tube seals. Thanks to Monica and Paul, Richard and David for answering all my questions. I changed my mind three different times about 4.88's or 5.13's and decided I wanted to be able to tow and better performance than anything else. I'll have pics of the install.

Where are you having them installed? Did you get the overhaul kit?

I'm doing it at my cousin's shop. He has a buddy that does the gear work for them. I'm going to do all the tear down and get everything done and I'll have him double check all the backlash and tension. This guy builds rearends for dragsters. He's the one that helped us with chris' axel swap and regear.

I got the complete set up with axel bearings and seals

I should still get around 15 mpg on the highway. Most of my driving is get on the hwy get to work right off the hwy and then back home again. I'm usually at work before 7 am and most of the time get off at 3:30, so I'm not stuck in traffic.

You lucky ducky! It's a rare occasion when my 18 mile commute doesn't involve bumper-to-bumper traffic.
