| Spent the weekend driving to and from Santa Rosa Beach, FL (awesome, btw) and had a strange MPG experience. On the way up I got between 17.5-19.0 MPG on all my fill-ups. On the way back, I dropped down to 14.5-15.5 . On my last fill up before SA I got back up to 16.5-17.0, and then once back in SA I'm at 18.5-20.0 in the city. Seems odd... no change in driving habits along the way. On the highway, I had it at 70 on cruise control the whole way. Any thoughts? Could it all be a matter of headwind? | |

| Wind, and maybe you had to drive up hill more often to TX than on your way to FL? | |

| Well... I guess I'll chalk it up to wind then... seemed like a pretty huge drop, and had me worried something was wrong with my engine at the time. | |

| Its the wind. Sunday coming home from Bolivar, I was going into the wind, 15.5mpg. Made the turn onto I-10, wind at my butt, got almost 21. Its been said before, but the JK is a big brick with wheels..... ........and slides thru the air like one. | |

| Yeah maybe a parasail might not be a bad idea for a mod. Just launch it in a tail wind and compensate for those killer headwinds! | |

Could also be fuel additives...I know that on the East coast, during the winter months they use (I think) an oxygenated fuel mixture...MPG sucks in general with it (I recall this from being in NY). Maybe you filled up at a station with the "winter blend"?? Just a thought.

My speedo is jacked - about 10mph off at 55. I have no clue how many miles to the gallon/tank that I am getting. I was going to say that I was getting 300 miles on a tank and that your rig is a POS..... If you can just figure out how to run that thing on ethylene...

| My tank probably holds at least 2 gallons less than it is supposed to, but my Jeep gets about 240-250 miles per tank with its 37's. Stock it was good for a little over 300 miles per tank. | |
