| Just to clarify a few things based on experience from attending the event - most of the "organization" was done by the folks at Midnight Four Wheelers and the folks at the ranch. The troops and their families were brought out in two buses escorted by Sheriffs all the way from the base - which was cool - I spent a little time with Jason and watched him wheel with some of the family members who had a blast when he went through the mud full blast... they were using a water hose to clean up after the ride and were all smiles.
My opinion - I have no problem with what he is doing, props to him for thinking it up and if folks don't want to donate then it is up to them. As far as I am concerned I bought him two tanks of gas. I don't think he is a fraud, I just think that it snowballed faster than his organizational skills could keep up with - that plus the "information age" will out a fake in a heart beat. He did the right thing with the 501c, posting details on the web, giving sponsors credit etc... He definitely has a good thing going.... I agree that he should raffle the rig off or something and the best idea would have been to sell tickets at the events and have the drawing at the last one and make a big real out of it. He could get what he has in it and still have a good chunk to give to the vets. That plus a lifetime of memories from making some heroes and their families smile for a day.

| not a bad idea, but too little money too many vets....but I bet there's more money rapped up in the Wheelin events then there is in that Jeep, you know they have raised enough money to travel cross country for 6 months, it pays for his hotels, tow rig, trailer to haul it all with, his food as well as his bills at home while he's gone. | |

| yeah there has been a lot of talk about that.
You see this guy basically had a great idea and marketed it, but did not work out the final details. He has gotten thousands of dollars in donations to build his Jeep and pay for his six moth wheelin Trip, but the problem is the Vets. He is telling people via the net where he will be wheelin he is offering to give vets rides in the Jeep, how will the vets get there?
His moto is one he stole from a movie.....FIELD OF DREAMS
"If I build it, they will come"
if no vets show up at the Parks he is at what happens?
Well, he wheels
No sure if they planned it to fail just so they could get $$$ for the Jeep and this Trip or if they just planned the whole thing poorly.

| Ok, I work for a company called L3 if any of yall don’t know what that is. We are in the same business as Lockead Martin, anyways I tried to get on to this website here at work and it would not let me. Instead a screen popped up saying it was a suspicious web site. Second there are allot of vets that I work with and a couple of them told me that they have heard threw the grapevine that this web page and the stuff going on with this ride was a scam. Now I know that’s only info threw the grapevine but I think I'm going to believe what they say. | |

| If you guys would spend some time on the website you will find that alot of these questions have been asnwered. This thing has snowballed and it will take alot of work to get it off the ground. By the way, Texas Has two events, not just one. TexasJeepowners.com has been working to raise money for one of the events. We need help here, if your interested, PM me and ask how. Getting the word out to the Iraqi Vets is not as easy as one might think. They have some pretty good privacy laws in place to protect them. Also, the Soldiers move around alot and are in and out of the rehab facilities. Here in Texas we do have some insiders working on this problem. Remeber, this idea has snowballed in the last few months. WFTW is now a 501c Charity (Amazed they got that done so fast). They have alot of support and it is not all about the Jeep and where this guy wants to build. However, it did start this way. He is not a soldier. He is a Contractor. He bought the Jeep himself and planned to take his buddy a double amputee I Believe out to enjoy the riding. He is taking 6 months off of his life to do this and plans to completely wear out the Jeep. He will not be working and have no income for 6 months. We have a huge Charity and funds drive coming up with TJO. If you are interested, ask me about it. We needs lots of Help. Also, the other event is Near SA. | |

| nah jennie, i dont think that at all, i just dont want to come off like an a*shole, the point i was trying to make is confront the man who started this thing with the concerns you have, give him a chance to clairify his plans with out starting a lynch mob and burning him (or me for posting about it) at the stake, i understand people have questions and some very good ones at that, so make them known to him so he can answer them, i was just trying to do a good deed and spread the word. this thing has the potential to be a real good thing. maybe some constructive critisim to him would help him better organize things or at leist better comunicate them. the thing i think no one has considered is how hard it would be to put somthing like this together, so the more ideas people could bounce off of him ( or questions or concerns) maybe the better. for real though i like this fourm and the people on it are great i just dont want to stir a big turd. just trying to make people aware. | |

| I think it's a great idea and a great cause, just think they may need to put more on their web site about how they are going to get in contact with vets and how they are gonna get them out there on the trail. And if it was worded better on the web and explained more about the events, I would say hell yeah and where do I sign up. Nah...James don't think TxRubiRig has any beef with ya......he just has a curious mind.......oh and did I mention he also has toooooo much thinking time on his hands.................As you can tell by reading his Novel..........who in the heck has that much time to type that much? | |

| keep in mind folks its a year or so away for most of the events, so there fore how do any of us know that he isnt going to contact alot of vets, maybe six months out or so, he still has alot of time to do so. the jeep was purchased by himself as his personal veh. the other stuff i dont know about, but hey if companys want to hook him up so he can run a chairty event, good for them,i am sure before they handed some stranger a bunch of expensive parts they checked him out a little, still not costing me anything. txrubirig non-sense on not posting anything else on this topic, why dont we work together and see if we can answer your and any other questions that come up, i dont want confrintation i just want people, if they have a question, to adress that to the person who can best answer them, i would think it would be the man putting it on. but if any one would like me to attempt to get answers for them i will try and do that. no hard feeling towards any one for there opinions, just trying to spread the word on a potential awesome oppurtunity. | |

| ok now you guys have me really going........I have been reading up on this a little more and yes it looks like it is and was a good Idea......but with flaws. Seems there are not very many Wounded Vets that know about the events.......Looks as if there are only two wounded guys who have commited to take part in this.............and it seems that one of them already has a rig and does his own wheelin Looks as if these guys are taking in a lot of cash and it's gonna turn out to be a flop...A lot has been put into this to make it work except getting the word out to the Vets........Seems like they need someone to Advo it at the VA hospitals. I called my Uncle who is a Wounded vet and he has heard nothing about it......he called a few of his budy's at our local VA hospital and they knew nothing of it either, they were very intreated in it though. I think this could be a great thing but they need to spend their time spreading the word to the Wounded and not just the general public!!!!!! Thats my 2 cents | |

| I read the web-site and liked alot of it except for it being complicated and yes not alot of talk about the actual vets. In fact if even stated that if we wanted to help the vets we would have to contact our local vet hospitals ourselves. The area that describes how jeep clubs can get involved was exciting until I got to the middle of the page. That is where it stated that we would be required to hold 2-4 charity events to raise money and 100% of that money would go directly to his organization to be spend on the main event. Well how complicated does this have to be. Give us a little info, tell us who to call and let us take the vets out ourselves...how hard it that and YES I AGREE 100% why does he need a new jeep...I say donate it to one of the vets. If fact lets not put so much money into that one jeep and donate two!!! My 2cents | |

| James, what a minute. I think you got the wrong idea from my post. - jeepguyjames wrote:
- if i let out the impression that he is a personal friend of mine (like you said) i am sorry i havent meet him in person.
1st of all, I never implied that you had ANYTHING to do with him. Those are quotes that I took straight from his forum that he wrote. The buddy part is nothing about you. I also noted where they could be found. I only ask the questions because I had some reservations. You stated that you had "kept an eye on from the infant stages up till now" and Josh said that it was "big on texasjeepowners." So I just thought mabye someone could help me. Simply put from what I've read (that the founder wrote) and whats on the site...the orginal idea is great, but show/tell me where the actual wounded vets fit in. Sorry but from what I've seen so far it appears that others (the major sponsors) are fitting his bill with his mod (or at least getting them close to free) and helping him w/travel expenses around the country and for what...two known vets so far! Is that right or not...just asking for clarifacions. Why well because truthfully his sub forum topic of "tired of defending.." didn't help that much. I'm not trying to start up anything...and if to help ease any tensions, I could make this my lost post on this topic if need be.

| txrubirig i respect your opinion, i dont know all of the details, but hey his fourm is free to join & he has always answered any question i have had, so maybe your best course of action is to sign up at his fourm and get it straight from the horses mouth. if i let out the impression that he is a personal friend of mine (like you said) i am sorry i havent meet him in person. i look at it this way if you decided to go to an event in 09 the only money you will have wrapped up in it is the gas to get back and forth, any camping fees, food, and anything you might break. nothing you wouldnt do on a normal weekend of wheelin right? so lets sy you show up and its a bust, you still get to wheel, and probably with some others who showed up for the same reason, no skin off of your back, still a good day and you arent out anything. now lets say you show up and there are alot of vets to wheel with and hang out with, still a normal wheelin weekend cost wise, but now you have made some memories and showed some vets a good time, def worth it. if your skeptical about the program ask him any questions you got on his fourm, go to the source, or just dont buy a sticker, save your five bucks, but plan on wheelin that weekend where the event is held, like i said above it wont cost you anything out of the normal. i dont want you to think i am being a jerk to you, like i said before i respect your opinions, i just fail to see how if this guy is a con srtist (i dont think he is), how its going to cost you anything out of pocket, or how he is going to scam you for money, and hey if he is a con and does show up at an event there is your chance to crack a con artist (who hasnt taken any money from you) right in the nose, either way thanks for your concerns, like i said give it a chance ask him your questions on his fourm.i respect your concerns. | |

| OK, 1st let me say that I have NOT read everything (esp on his forum) and 2nd I am NOT trying to start up anything and 3rd I DO LIKE the idea. However, I have some reservations. Hopefully those in the know could clear them up for me. When I heard and read of this, I thought that wounded vets would be riding with us, camping etc. I see the founder has obtained numerous sponors, taking donations and will travel around in his own Jeep (thats being built). However, when scanning through his forum its basically about his rig build and where he is going to go wheeling and attractions he can do in whatever state when he is not wheeling. In his forum topic, Wounded Military Members, there appears to be only two! In the forum topic, under Texas...its basically about where to wheel and what attratctions to see....I don't see much (if any) by him about where the Tex vets are at, how to get them out, etc... Then I found his forum topic, Tired of Defending which was 1st started (03-26) that makes me question even more! 1st his Jeep build: Phase 1 (02-16) = only Line-X ok no biggie Phase 2 (02-16) = (cut and paste) TeraFlex 4" Suspension System w/Full FlexArm System - Installed TeraFlex Rock Guard Front Bumper - Installed TeraFlex Rock Guard Rear BumperTeraFlex Rock Guard Spare Tire CarrierTeraFlex Rock Guard Rock SlidersTeraFlex Front Drive ShaftTeraFlex Rear Drive ShaftTeraFlex CB Antenna MountTrue Flow XDI Air IntakeKC HiLiTES Fog Lights (2)KC HiLiTES Driving Lights (2)KC HiLiTES Long Range Lights (2)KC HiLiTES Windshield Light Mounting Brackets (2)KC HiLiTES Hood Mount Light Bar w/2 LightsWARN 9.5Ti WinchRoundeye LED Rock Light KitBushwacker Pocket Style Front Fender FlaresBushwacker Pocket Style Rear Fender Flares40" BFGoodrich Krawler Tires17" Centerline WheelsKilby EVAP Canister Relocation Kit Duel Battery Set-up Power Inverter ARB Compressor6 Military Style SwitchesDaystar Lower Dash Switch PanelCrown 4" Black Brake LinesDaystar Upper Dash PanelPoly Performance High Steer KitPoly Performance Chromoly Tie RodMagnaflow Exhaust - Installed Dynatrac Pro Rock 60 Rear Axle w/5.38 Gears & Diff CoverDynatrac Pro Rock 60 Front Axle w/5.38 Gears & Diff CoverMopar Door Sill KitRugged Ridge Front Euro Light GuardsSylvania SilverStar Halogen Headlamp UpgradeAiraid Throttle Body SpacerHighRock 4x4 Fuel DoorCobra 40 Mobile 75WXST CB RadioWild Boar Fastback T-Top Hard TopWild Boar Fastback Rack System w/Canopy KitWild Boar Wraparound Taillight Grill GuardsPhase 3 (03-08) = (cut and paste) Smittybilt G.E.A.R. "...I was going to take my friend, who lost both his legs over here...." and then later "...Oh, and who's this "buddy" that I'm going to see the U.S. with? I'm traveling alone..." "All I've done is offered a sticker to people in exchange for $5. The funds from the stickers will help pay for fuel and campsite fees..." Understand that, cuz that ads up real quick coming out of your own pocket too. Well shit...I could go on with more...but I think thats enough. All I ask is if someone could please clear this up for me (someone that knows more than me)! I guess I pictured something like showing up at an event and seeing a bus or two full of wounded vets from local VA's and what not...and then getting to spend the weekend with them...wheelin, camping, BS'ing, etc. I'm sorry I'm just not getting a picture anything like that when I read his stuff (based on whats already been said). Do I think its a great idea...Hell yes. Would I like to be part of it...Hell yes. But show/tell me more where the actual wounded vets fit in [how's the word getting to them (through the VA or whatever?), how are they traveling to and fro, etc...] not about the founder, his rig etc! Maybe it should just be titled something along the lines of "Charity Ride for Disabled Vets" all donations divided equally among the local VA hospitals in the area. Soooo sorry for the long post (if you've even made it this far...lol). Initial concept is great...but where is it actually leading to now. | |
