| So here were the two parks we had it narrowed down to, that I can remember. http://katemcyrocks.com/index.htmlhttp://canyonsoffroad.com/Also, we agreed that sense most people work every other weekend, either the first weekend in october, or the third would be best. After looking at my schedual I vote for the third (10/14-10/15), but no matter what ill make arangments pending on what we decide here. Chime in and tell me what you think. | |

| The parks are about 30 mile from each other, if your going for the weekend do both, one on Saturday & the other on Sunday. | |

| I like K2 but never been to Canyons. K2 is open Sept. 16-18, Canyons i believe we can go whenever. So I guess Canyons would work better for our schedule. | |

| If your going to Canyons in mid October its going to cost you a $100. That's the weekend of The King of the Canyons endurance race. The first 25 to sign up get to race, everyone else is a spectator.
Here's what you need to play:
A. It is mandatory that all vehicles be equipped with a 5 point restraint system including, but not limited to, submarine strap, 2 shoulder harnesses, and 2 lap harnesses. They are to be in good condition, and mounted per the manufacturer recommendations. Restraints must be worn by all occupants in vehicle at all times that the vehicle is in motion. B. All occupants of vehicle must wear a DOT approved helmet at all times while the vehicle is in motion. Full face, as well as SNELL approved helmets, are highly recommended. Helmets shall be strapped and worn in accordance with the manufacturer specifications. C. Fire suits are mandatory, and must carry a minimum SFI rating of 3.2A/1. Fire suits must be worn by all occupants of vehicle while it is in motion. One or two piece suits are permitted. D. Window nets are not required, but highly recommended. E. It is highly recommended that seats be manufactured for activities of a racing nature. Seats must be mounted in accordance with manufactured specifications. It is recommended that seats be mounted to the frame. F. Fire extinguishers are mandatory. You must have at least, but not limited to, two (2) portable fire extinguishers mounted in a location and in a manner that is easily accessible to both occupants, as well as, at least one accessible from outside. G. Horns are mandatory. 2. General Vehicle components All vehicles should be in sound condition, free of serious leaks. All vehicles should have a floorboard and firewall. It is highly recommended that a bulkhead separate passengers from the fuel storage. All vehicles should have shielding from driveshaft failure. All spare parts must be securely mounted to vehicle. Rearward facing mirrors are mandatory and must have an unobstructed view rearward.
3. Roll cages It is each competitor’s personal responsibility to present a safe quality manufactured roll cage. CrawlingChaos and Canyons off-road reserve the right to refuse entry to any would-be competitor whose roll cage is deemed unsafe by The Chief Tech Inspector. Cage and all cage and mounted components should allow 3” of clearance to all occupants’ heads. Cage should be free of rust and damaged areas. 6 point cages with at least 4 points connected to the frame are mandatory.
4. Suspension. There must be at least one shock absorber per wheel. Any suspension system will be permitted, and must be free of damage and in good condition as determined by the chief tech inspector.
5. Brakes Brakes must be able to adequately apply enough force to lock up all four tires. Brakes are to be free of leaks and mounted properly as deems by C.T.I... Cutting, pinion, and transmission brakes are permitted.
6. Controls All throttles, whether hand or foot operated must have at least 1 throttle return spring with enough force to return to idle when throttle is released.
7. Fuel All fuels are permitted. All storage containers must be mounted per manufacturer specifications. Containers must be free of leaks, and any and all vents must be routed out of the passenger compartment.
8. Electrical All switches must be clearly labeled as “on and off” and their function. There must be a single switch capable of starting the vehicle. If a separate fuel pump switch is used, it must be clearly labeled. It is highly recommended that all vehicles be equipped with a master kill switch that is mounted in a location easily accessible to the occupants as well as from outside the vehicle. All batteries must be mounted and securely fastened to vehicle outside the passenger compartment. It is mandatory that all vehicles have a rearward facing RED stop signal. Rearward amber flasher is highly recommended.

| Try checking with Cline Ranch near Medina Lake. Sometimes they will open the park up for a group. If you are successful, then you might even convince a large group of us San Antonio peeps to come along too. Here is a link to help you get in touch with them. http://www.clineranch.com/directions | |

| Just an FYI, I'm heading to Hidden Falls the weekend after the Clines Ranch trip. Some of the guy's on JK-F are wheeling that weekend and I decided to join them.
So if you guys have problems heading out on 9/17, I am wheeling on 9/24 as well.
I just haven't been out much this year, so I'm playing ketchup to meet my quota. | |
