| I have been having difficulty getting my temp and gas gauge to work in my 86 CJ7. I've sent positive and negative to the gauges and received no response on the temp gauge and the gas gauge pegged with positive. I've ordered new gauges and am about to battle putting them in and hopefully getting them to work, however, I've been told the gas gauge works off ohms. Can anyone confirm for deny this. Also I've been told there is a way to check the gauges either by sending a positive of negative to them, anyone heard this or know anything about it. FYI, I have replaced both sending units and confimed no breaks in the wires all the way to the gauges, hince the reason I bought new gauges, thats all I can think is left to do.
thanks in advance. | |

| Oh well, all that time and money and I still have two broken gauges. I've resorted to a two gallon gas tank with gas for a fuel gauge and as for the temp gauge, I'll just watch for smoke. Lot cheaper and easier. | |

| I looked into that. can't find on that adapts small enough. cjs have an 1/8 hole for sending unit. smallest I could find is 1/2. I'm sure i will manage to make one work. just frustrated. | |

| You just use the CJ sending unit for one and get another. You can add them to any water port, make a port for your hose...... | |
