Smittybilt Xrc Amazon

So today, like a lot of jeepers, I was browsing through rear bumpers and tire carrier combos when a picture of the Xrc bumper came up. Normally this wouldn't have been anything to look twice at except that it was sold through amazon. Again, like many of you, I have done business with Amazon and have always been pleased with their customer service as well as their product selection, however, I didn't know they had an automobile section; so I clicked their advertisement and my heart stopped. They had a complete Smittybilt Xrc bumper and tire carrier combo for 220$, I repeat, two hundred and twenty dollars! After promptly wiping myself I contacted one of Amazon's representatives because frankly, the deal was to good to be true. After a good conversation with him he confirmed that the deal was authentic and was in fact fulfilled by Amazon; that fact is important later on in the story. I am still skeptical with this deal because by anyone's account this would be a savings of well over 600$, so I asked the guy if he would confirm that everything came with the bumper, including the tire carrier, hardware and everything else. He said that his Quality team would contact me tomorrow (February 17th) with all of the details, but assured me that if what I ordered was not what was described then I could ship it back for a full refund with shipping on them.

So, I ordered the bumper about 30 minutes ago knowing that there is a 3 week wait for shipping, ample time for Amazon's quality team to find out if this is a scam or not. If this is true, and God I hope it is, then I just scored perhaps the best deal on a brand new Bumper and Tire carrier that I have ever heard of. And best of all, sense it was over 100 dollars and fulfilled and sold by Amazon, It had free shipping hahaha!

So I will update this thread with all of the information that is to come. Hopefully I just got a Smittybilt Xrc rear bumper and tire carrier for 220$ with free shipping.

Nice find Tyler! I just checked it out, the one thing that has me wondering is the "box 2 of 2" wording it has on it. I wonder if it is an add on to the bumper or what? but at that price i may just chance it with you.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Amazon on that, They said that it is a promotional price only and will not last long. They said that they will honor the deal if it turns out to be legit but will give me all of my money back if not. There is also another dealer selling it with a contact number. Maybe give that guy a call and see whats up.

How did this work out for you? I found a posting that looked like the one you mentioned for $235-ish. It says box 2 of 2 like mentioned above. It also has part number 76856-02 which is for the tire carrier. I contacted the seller and they confirmed its not for both. They said sorry for ye confusion. Since its a third party sell amazon won't make send both. So I had to get a refund. I did it a few days ago and still haven't seen my refund.

yeah, that's why I ordered through amazon and not the third party. Amazon is sticking by their word that they will fulfill the order or fully return my money. We shall see. Still no official word back from them though as to how complete the set up is, they are sending me emails about it every other day though.

I had ordered mine through amazon as well. They are the ones who told me the third party stuff. Either way, they said they would refund so I'm not concerned. I hope it works for you though.

Ok, So I this thread will officially die with this. Amazon sent me an email and confirmed that the advertised deal was a mistake. It was only for the tire carrier and nothing more. I canceled my order and Amazon was apologetic to say the least. I will be in contact with one of their higher level customer service people in the coming days because they feel as if they have misled me. As I said before this was sold and fulfilled by Amazon and not one of their third party affiliates that use their site, so they feel responsible for the blunder. However, baring some strange set of events this thread is now dead. To bad, would have been a hella deal.

Still, the carrier for $220.00 and see if you can get the bumper for another $220.00 (after all, it was their mistake and they want to make it right for you ) for a complete bumper/tire carrier combo at $440.00 + shipping is still ONE HELL OF A DEAL!!

The way it is going to work out is that they will sell me the tire carrier for a ridiculous 115$. It shipped this morning. I talked to Marcus at River City Off-road this morning and he said he can get a tire carrier ready bumper shipped to me for 600$, quite a bit more than the original price, but I'm helping a local guy's business and still getting a pretty damned good deal on a good bumper, so I can't complain too much. I thought about trying to push Amazon into a deal for the bumper and what not, but I would rather spend a little more and deal with Marcus if for no other reasons than he is a good guy and I would boost his sales a bit.

The week hasn't been bad though, got my custom rock rails finished up and they will be welded on this weekend. You guys will see em at longs for sure. Plus I finally got a spare (I've been running without one) 35" tire for 25$ with close to 80% tread left lol.

So all in all, Dave is right, the deal was to good to be true but it was fun while it lasted.
