| So about 8 years ago I was at a friends house who had an old 70's beat up rotted boat behind his house. I told him we needed to fix it up and run it around the lake. Well he told me to take it home and do it myself, so it did, take it home that is. It was a yard orniment for many years until I tied the boat to a tree and pulled the 16 foot trailer out from under it. I was going to make the boat into a flower garden until a few days later some guy stopped my my house and wanted some parts off the motor. I told him if he wanted the parts, he would have to take the whole boat and motor with him, so he did. I decked the trailer and made it into a 16 foot flat bed and used it maybe twice and once again it was a yard orniment for years. Well a few years ago I got into this off roading stuff and saw a few of ya'll with these cool off road trailers and thought I sure would love one of those. So last night I was fed up with trouble shooting my jeep problems so my buddy and I went to my property and ripped my once again old rotted beat up trailer out of the weeds and drug it into my garage. My plans were to cut it somewhere behind the fenders and take about eight feet out of the center and splice it back together. So I started to take the fenders off and found something really cool. The spring and axle were attached to the same piece of angle the fender was. So once I took the bolts out of the fender the whole unit dropped to the ground. So I wouldn't have to splice it in the middle. So I cut 8 feet off the end and used the channel I cut off for the now end of the trailer and replaced the cross member that used to be bent for the boat to drive up on with a straight one. I cleaned up the rust and primed the fenders and the channels the fenders were going to attached to and reattached the fenders and axle. Once it is done it will be an 8 X 5 trailer. For those of you who know me and my jeep I intend to remove my bottom rack and use the trailer in place of the rack. I'll post up more as I continue. Hope ya'll like it, I'm having a blast building it. | |

| Your welcome buddy. I think the trailer did great. It carried a lot, and I mean a LOT of gear and handled loose sand well. Especially for street tires. Now to build one for me!
