Lets try to roll out about 10, Todd has some property up off River Road that I think we may be able to have lunch at for those that dont want to go to Saltlick

For those who wish to pack a lunch or just drink their lunch after the run to the lake, I contacted the Lazy L and L campground on river-road and they have a pavilion that we can use. They are offering a discounted rate of $15.00 per-vehicle for the day and this will give us access to a pavilion, restrooms, and river access. The river is about 20 yards from the pavilion (so they say).

If you are interested let me know, so I can provide them with an approximate count. They did offer the use of another pavilion if we have a big turn out.

Remember we are raffling off the winch, so if you didnt get tickets last weekend you can buy them on the 19th, or sooner if you call and meet me somewhere

I will be at PINS down here but if you take 337 to Leakey, remember to look for the beautiful Chapel on the hill. Thats my Family's property!

Alrighty then, I'll be in touch as soon as I hit the road to try and figure out how I can join up in the convoy. I assume we'll be using channel 4 on the CB radios as well. We should also probably get the route posted for everybody to have handy.

FYI - There may be a contingent of JK-Forum members from Austin joining us on this run. They were discussing doing something for GTD and I posted about our event. Maybe we will get some new members from the deal.

BTW, is the planned route going to be posted on the forum?

Contact Renee on the route. I don't think it has been posted before in past events.

I will bring "Leapin' Leena" so we can have a hot lunch. I was thinking K-bobs or fajitas or both. We could have finger type sides i.e. chips, veggies and such to avoid the plates. This way you can eat without setting down your beer. Let me know how many want lunch so I can bring enough and/or sign up to bring stuff. I will supply meat and some other goodies, if you would like to eat slip me a couple of bucks to offset my cost. If you want to bring your own meat, I will be happy to cook it or let you use my magical machine..... For the new folks who are not aware of Leena.....

So, is it official that we head up to Canyon Lake and then back down to the Lazy L & L? Do we need to plan to bring $15 per Jeep to get in, plus food/drinks or food for Randy to cook?

Everyone I have spoken with has said this will be great. All I need to know is how many mouths will be there....
$15 is cheap for the entertainment provided (Texas Kid + beer + river) and a few bucks to cover meat......

Here are the directions for Sat. We will pick some leaders to lead a group of ten up to Gruene, here are the direcrtions as well as contact info for the park. Look forward to seeing everyone on Sat.

Well I'm out. Just found out that my boy's playoff game is at 10:30 and not the normal 3:00. So I will meet you all there at 10:00 with the winch and off to the football game.

I'm still kicking around the idea of continuing on to the Saltlick. Is anyone else doing this? The other thought was to follow everyone to the L&L and then cut over to 306 and head back to Gruene to eat at the Gristmill since it's a little closer. Might just have to play it by ear and see what kind of mood the kidos are in. We will definitely be following everyone to the L&L, just not sure where from there!

Anyone have a good feel for about when we would be arriving at the L&L?
