I picked up a new to me YJ on Saturday. It's mostly stock but we have big plans for it!







Even the wife was having a blast driving it around the neighborhood with the windshield down.

Stock........... Liar!

HELL the only thing I see stock are the headlights!!!!

Nice! I can't wait to see this on the trails. Got more spec info? Looks like I see at least one dana 60, stretched wheelbase, that this is awesome.

Yes sir, here's a bit more info.

408 SBC, Turbo 350, clocked NP205, D60 front (kingpin) and rear, 4:88's, 39.50 Pitbulls, stretched to 105, wishbone 3 link, leafs in the front, caged, etc. I am grateful that the previous owner took a lot of care in his work.

I forgot to mention that my rig is a mixed breed too - half YJ frame and half TJ frame.

That is a mighty fine looking Y/TJ you've got there. I test drove one that color back in the late 80's. It was just slightly more stock than that one.

Yep, definitely stock headlights.

Stock........ Where do I pick up other "Stock" vehicles of this caliber. Hell, I wish my JK came with "stock" factory options like the ones you have been blessed with.

David, I really appreciate you swinging by the CJ8 the other day. It was just too high a price for what he had. This YJ came from another forum member on Texas Jeep Owners/Pirate/Texas4x4.org. He's a really good guy and has years of building experience. It was just too good of a deal to pass up.

A few friends have asked if I'm going to switch to the CJ front end. I kind of dig the YJ "different" aspect. If anything, I'll do something weird like a Willys P/U front end. I need to do some measuring and see what happens.

One of these days I'll finally raise both the money and the time to finish my build, and I'll be no doubt in the hole compared to whatever you stole that for...

No problem it was just around the corner from me, BTW that is a realnice YJ I wish I could get the milage I get with mine out of a SBC but you can't have both oh well.
