Me and Kassi recently recieved a Ford GPW from her grandpa. A Ford GPW was built along side the Willys MB during WW2 and were built identical so parts would interchange in the battlefield.. Ford dropped out early only making 230,000 GPW's Willys continued producing the MB and after the war the # of MB's built were almost double the GPW.. none returned from overseas either being dropped in the ocean or simply left.. the only ones that survived were the ones that never left bases in the states.. increasing the rareity of them...
simply put... its a rare find... and now let the Restoration begin...its going to take a long time to get it to car show quality.. but thats the level i want to restore it to.. I'll document here and on the Jeep nation Facebook page...

time for a sandblaster...

another interesting thing about the GPW and MB is the plate under the body mounted to the crossmember behind the seat to mount the .50 cal.. Wink

also... the name "Jeep" was said to have originated by soldiers saying GP in a quick slang manner.. "Gee-P" and it then adopted the character from Popeye.. the "Jeep", a guy that could seemingly get out of any undesireable situation...
