| Just a sign of the times... The Jeep brand won't be immune from the demand destruction that may occur at $5 gas either... let's just hope it doesn't come to that. | |

| Rumor on the Hummer boards (with some Hummer insiders involved) says the H2, which was slated for a major redesign in 2010 will remain unchanged through the rest of its life. The model is expected to be killed in 2011 or 2012. The current H2 specific plant is to be closed this year and it added the line at the plant of one of its sister vehicles. The H3 more than likely will live on in some form or another. Obviously the H1 has been dead for 2 years now. There is even some speculation that Chrysler could buy the Hummer brand. How weird would that be? | |

The humvee was created by AM General which was a division of AMC who at the time owned Jeep. AMC sold the AM General line to GM- this is why the Hummers have a similar 7 slotted grill as Jeeps. So in essence, the Hummer is just a long lost cousin of Jeep.

Its grill was basically a rectangular square made up of flat metal with verticle metal slats bolted in place.
