| They didn't want him promoting a vendor with a known bad reputation in the industry. This is from different sources on the internet and from of the forum members that had dealings with him. So it was not targeted at Jdldx3, but they didn't want the vendor to be able to market their product on "the other forum". | |

| exactly right Dutchboy. I have only heard good things from people who actually own one. If every business who made mistakes in the past were not allowed to operate we would not have many choices in life. | |

LMAO following Dukes advise will just get you put in forum purgatory like me. I have had about three pm conversations with eddie and vaginajeep about Poly and my nefarious psting habits in regards to them. Hell, i even got in trouble for my sig over there and it didn't even mention Poly...directly. Something like...by the manufacturer whose name is not to be mentioned hahaha. That got me another forum infraction and I am just a thought away from being banned. I think N2rock maybe saving my ass over there LOL. Duke, you seem pretty cool for t-sip man. Look forward to the start of the season!

This is from different sources on the internet and from of the forum members that had dealings with him. That may be partly true, BUT what about shrockworks? there are several thread about their lead times. too many ppl saying "deal with it" or "what do you expect for a great product" they keep missing the point that shrock is quoting deliver times of 5-7 weeks and charges up front. then 3 months later it's still at the powder coater!!! this is why i have a mopar front bumper. if they had just told me 3-4 months, i would have paid & been happily waiting. But told 5-7 weeks, then 3 months later being told every week "it should ship on monday/friday/next week" then the "we had a problem with the powder coater" pissed me off to no end.

The story is a bit deeper than that. From what I recall, there used to be a company (don't recall the name), that apparently got a lot of money from TJ owners on some parts that they were making. Then suddenly that company just disappeared, taking a lot of TJ owner's money- none of them got refunds. Well somebody somewhere somehow connected some dots and turned out that ORH was the same person/company. Probably a case of the first company having to file bankruptcy I would bet. But in the Jeep community, if a bunch of jeepers get screwed, it tends to haunt the company behind it. When ORH first introduced their top, there was a huge lengthy thread discussing the top. As the thread went on, the connections were made, people talked smack about ORH. One of the people that bought one of the first tops had some issues with the install and torn panels, which ORH corrected. But the thread went negative, some people contacted ORH pointing him to the thread so he could defend himself, he refused to participate in the thread and responded nasty to the emails (which of course the responses got posted in the thread). Basically, thread became a lynch mob.

| It was California Tops. It is still there and sells the same ORH top. My top was shipped from Canada.
I had no previous dealings with the guy but I am pretty sure it is the same one.
I say get over it and move on.
They probably pimp the other manufactures because they are paying sponsors or send them free products.
Money talks. | |
