i usually dont have my top or doors on and got tired of the cops bugging me so i stole the concept from jons and built my own
cost free scrap material at work

Your lucky you can do metal work and have the tools. Me- I don't know the first thing about fabricating.

its easier than you think and metal is cheaper than catalog prices

Wish I could do stuff like that. I had to buy mine.

Has it really been an issue? I have never even had it questioned. I have owned Jeeps off and on since '86. For 7 years I daily drove a '77CJ5 and I did not own doors or a top other than a bikini for it. I eventually put a mirror on the driver side for convienence sake.

actually its a grey passat dont let my ol lady hear you call it a altima she hears it all the time

i think i have enough material for 2 more sets of mirror mounts but i need to redesign the passenger side kind of hard to see out on

so that means i need tolook at jons again and maby even take measurements this time so what do you say jon...buddy ...pal...chum...mi amigo...

BTW. my passenger side is hard to see too until you take the doors off. Problem solved with a little circle mirror in the lower right corner of the OEM one.
