My New Toy

Picked this up Saturday.
DPMS LR-308 AP4 in .308. Never been much of a fan of the .223, so got this one to double as my new deer rifle.

HAH, seems like a lot of this going around lately!!! Picked my Bushy up on Saturday as well. I don't hunt, so I went with 5.56. Now I just need more $$$ for the goods [img][/img]

We went and looked this weekend too, I think Bobby is getting the 223 just because the rounds are a lot cheaper that the 308.

I prefer the .308, but couldn't afford one..........yet

The great thing about this platform is like the Jeep, you have sooooooo many options. BTW, nice one there Todd!

The gun store Saturday was packed. Everyone was buying AR's or AK's.

The worst part was Saturday afternoon..conversation went something like this:

Claudina: Whats that? "What?" That black thing on the bed? "Oh that....uh, its a case"

A case for what? "What?" What is that case for? "Oh, its uh, its uh, thats for a DPMS"

Oh, ok smartass, whats a DPMS? "Uh, its a rifle" Did you buy a new rilfe? "Yeah, but it was on sale"...LOLOL.

My conversation wasn't as bad. It was over the phone and went something like- so...what did you do today ? Oh, just stopped by Academy to look at guns . So, did you buy one ? Um yeah...... I knew you would . At least you didnt get yapped at in Spanish for five minutes. I did understand "gringo" that was thrown in there. After it was over, I asked her what she said. Was told it was, "I love you" in Spanish.

that DPMS is a frikin beast.

the springfield armory 308 socom has less kick than that damn thing. or maybe its the model my uncle bought. he got his with the 18" bull barrel and target crown. yours has an m4 style muzzle break so should cut down on the recoil. Make sure you do a good break in and only use really really good ammo. the chamber on his is very tight and very selective about the ammo it likes. that part kinda sucks. but when we found ammo it liked, it kicks ass.... and beats the hell outta any shoulder.

i'm trying to convice my uncle he has too many rifles and should give me the DPMS or sell it to me for a rediculously sweet price for X-mas.

Very nice......Bushy's are hard hard to beat in a .223. Maybe 10 years ago a Colt could have passed them by, but not anymore. And now with Rock River & DPMS & Bushmaster all making quality at a reasonable price, even better for all of us. Notice I did not mention Armalite......great stuff, but they are the Shrockworks of AR's....

DUDE!!! Wasssssup?? It does kinda kick, but its more like a big shove on me. I am kinda large (please see other post... )
I tried it with Black Hills 175gr. Boat-tail hollowpoints and while they do shove you, its not what I was worried about.....I bet you could hear the damn thing in San Antonio....
